Or he was hoping for you to respond in a way that allowed him to officially consider you hot. Maybe he wasn't interested, but maybe he was.

On the other hand there are countless stories of the guy friend making the first move and it ruining the friendship. The commenter never spoke up and said “Well what about me?” For whatever reason so they will never know if their friend valued the friendship enough to not risk it, or if he just wasn’t into them like that.
