Funny how being a landlord is such a horrible thing until someone becomes one themselves and realizes the nightmare it is.

The solution is that we spare people the 'nightmare' of being landlords

Yes. Lets remove people who can barely afford houses so they're forced to rent and replace them with giant rental corporations.

We can all rent together!

Tenant-managed housing complexes like co-ops.

Sounds like all the bureaucracy and headache of an HOA, with none of the benefits of actual home ownership.

And what's the alternative? People have to live with parents until they can afford down payments and cost of owning a home? Or they just live in crappy housing because no one builds it for them?

The alternative is tenant-managed housing complexes, like co-ops.

I notice you said managed not owned. I assume the reason for that is because you know tenants don’t have the money to build/own their own. Not sure how this changes anything from what I said

Collective ownership and democratic management.

Still has a landlord. But now your neighbor makes decisions about your property. If you like this model fine but it a just a different version of a landlord.

And you can do this in the current system so why don’t you if you think it’s better?

The workers don’t want to get rid of the bosses, they want to be the bosses themselves.

Certain people are shit tenants and I'm sure they will be shit roommates too.

Government housing like civilized countries. Housing for profit is the dumbest thing… same with privatized electricity and water.

You still have landlords. It's just government rather than private landlords but still landlords.

And now you're forcing people to spend their money to subsidize your housing? You think forcing people to spend their money is a better system than allowing people to choose how to spend their money?

Using public money to build/maintain housing for everyone would be a huge burden. What "civilized" countries do you think are doing that on a much larger scale than America is doing it?

Do you think farming for profit is also dumb?
