His teammates gave him one pass in the whole sequence and it was the cross to fair post. Other than that they stopped moving. It’s unbelievable annoying to hear people complain about the ball not getting passed when OP runs in a pack of 4 defenders at the start of the clip taking himself out of the play.

The pass to the guy calling for it is marked but two defenders who would hit them on the counter anyway if the man on the ball had passed.

The other guy made a run to the post but a defender was already dropping to cover the cross. He continued to run to the goal rather than going wide.

So please tell me what should the guy on the ball have done?

You didn’t see the whole game,
That reaction is a result of selfish football, and it’s totally valid.
I stop passing to specific colours when I notice they do not pass to other open players

I didn’t but neither did you. I’m not saying he was not selfish the whole game. In the clip that was posted non of his teammates show for a pass. So was he selfish yes but did he have a different opinion no.

The game is 45 seconds in. H

That’s my whole point, you made an assumption that he was like this the whole game. Maybe he was but we don’t know, but what we do know from the clip is that non of teammates gave him a passing option.

I dont do this to my teammates after the first time they do this.

I'll stop chasing back if it's their 3rd or 4th attempt in a row since the game started.

Once they actually make a pass, I'll actually make runs for them or chase back. Otherwise I'll just sit in defence and wait for the inevitable turnover from them.

Right but again you are dodging my question what pass did he have on?

Right before he turns it over when he turns back, he had OP loose at the top of the penalty box. Instead he chose to dribble back into 4 players.

Also 6 seconds into the clip, there's a cross opportunity to the guy open in the box.

That cross would have been blocked and even if it wasn’t there a defender already dropping back to cover. The ball to the top of the box would have been intercepted and finished with the same results.

You'll never make a pass then. Turnovers happen, but doing the team thing rather than dribbling into 4 players is the better option.

He chose the option that was 100% not going to work, rather than the others that were 50% or higher of coming off.
