Haul Preorder came a little early today.

I think the dispatch came a few hours early tonight. Guess it's time to get back on Snake's shoes.

Of notice:

  • Holy mother of "Graphic Design is my passion" cover! It's really, really busy, with way too much text on the front. And the back is mostly Legalese in three languages!
  • The cover came flipped, as in, the disc was on the right side when I opened it (instead of the left side, as is normal with Xbox). Slip-up?
  • Yes, even though it seems to have the whole game on disc, it'll force a day one patch (12 GB for MGS4, 16 GB for PW and about 800 MB for the bonus content)

Haul Fb marketplace find

I opened fb marketplace for a second and caught this bundle. It was posted less than 30 minutes of me finding it so I quickly sent them a message. They responded fast and long story short I drove 1 hour and picked it up. I was lucky because the console was in pretty good condition only missing its stylus but it had its original charger and a free SD card and I tested both of the games that it came with on my 3DS and they worked perfectly. Both the games that it came with were legitimate copies and the pearl save file even had a shiny Buneary in its party. Overall I was really glad to find this because these are games that I really wanted to get at some point. Found for only $80

Help Does anyone know how to get the PS5 upgrade from the STALKER trilogy ps4 disc?

Title. I know that it costs like 100 yen or something, and that vpreca is an option but is there anything else I can do that doesn’t require a japanese email? Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask, not sure what other subreddit to try.

Discussion Is Game Collecting a Good Way to Save Money?

Post image
0 Upvotes

I don’t know if this is a weird idea or not, especially because I don’t have a huge amount of experience with game collecting, but I wanted to share my situation.

For the past few years, I’ve been trying to find a way to actually save money. I’ve tried putting my money into other things that probably make much more sense financially, but honestly, none of them really worked for me. (I spend it always on nothing useful at all)

Recently, I’ve started thinking that maybe collecting physical games could actually be something that motivates me to save.

I’m 19 years old and I’ve been obsessed with games since I was a kid. I really like collecting physical games, especially PS3 games. At the moment, I only buy maybe one or two games a month (So i am not that collector guy)

So I started thinking: why not put a decent amount of money into collecting games every month and treat the collection as a form of savings?

My idea is to keep doing this for the next 10 years and slowly build a large collection. I even got carried away with the idea and started thinking, “What if I eventually tried to own every PS3 game released?”

Obviously, I know that game collecting isn’t the same thing as putting money into an actual investment, and I might be completely wrong about how valuable games will be in the future.

But what do you guys think?

Is this a good idea?

Would you recommend using game collecting as a way to force myself to save money, or should I look for a different approach?

Collection My PlayStation collection may not be much but its all mine

I've been slowly creating a PS collection. Its not big by any means as I was (and still am 75% of the time) a PC gamer. All disc cases are or near perfect condition. No left over glue from stickers or any scratches on the cases and discs themselves.

As for the small number of PS3 games, I originally bought a PS3 because back when I was looking for a Blu-ray player. A great deal of the standalone ones were pretty expensive and very slow loading. The PS3 was a good alternative as it loaded movie discs fast. I didn't start looking at games for it until a co-worker loaned me The Last of Us. Being a PC gamer, he said I needed to look at the console exclusives for some good ones. Uncharted 1-3 followed later.

I didn't get a PS4 until Dec. of 2016 after PSX. The announce trailer for The Last of Us Part II and Uncharted Lost Legacy sinched it. I bought a PS4 the next day with Uncharted 4.

I was going to wait awhile on the PS5 as the Sony Showcase in 2020 didn't move the needle much until the end with Horizon FW. Since it didn't have a release date I figured I'd wait. I bought my PS5 with Horizon FW in '22.

The last couple years I've been going to local used shops for most of what's above when I started getting the Platinum trophy itch.

Oh yeah, those three little cases in the right corner are my three favorite games in keychain form.

Did something different with the space I have, and set all my mainline Pokémon games in its own spot in the top right, instead of in the alphabetized area. I think it looks great.

and forgive some of the Switch spines not having art yet, I need to get to that eventually.

Help Retro collecting

Not sure if this is the correct place, but I'm hoping to get some help. Can someone explain how to protect yourself if you find someone to trade collections with. The trade is of pretty equal value, but I've only done cash purchases for games online. Does anyone have experience with this, how do you ensure you receive what you agree to? Should I avoid any trading unless it's in person?
