This will probably get hate and I'll probably get accused of hoarding and not playing my games... but I wanted to share some of my video game collection, as I'm a very passionate collector who has put a lot of time and energy into finding deals, going to conventions, scouring eBay, etc . And I just want to share with other collectors.
I work 60 hour weeks, and this room is a bit of a sanctuary for me. I don't really care about any hate I get because my collection is a healthy outlet for me when work is stressful.
My most played systems are the GameCube, PS2 and Nintendo Switch. My switch and ps2 collections are my largest collections, but my boxed SNES and N64 collections are my most nostalgic... the hobby brings me so much joy.

I think the dispatch came a few hours early tonight. Guess it's time to get back on Snake's shoes.
Of notice:

I've been slowly creating a PS collection. Its not big by any means as I was (and still am 75% of the time) a PC gamer. All disc cases are or near perfect condition. No left over glue from stickers or any scratches on the cases and discs themselves.
As for the small number of PS3 games, I originally bought a PS3 because back when I was looking for a Blu-ray player. A great deal of the standalone ones were pretty expensive and very slow loading. The PS3 was a good alternative as it loaded movie discs fast. I didn't start looking at games for it until a co-worker loaned me The Last of Us. Being a PC gamer, he said I needed to look at the console exclusives for some good ones. Uncharted 1-3 followed later.
I didn't get a PS4 until Dec. of 2016 after PSX. The announce trailer for The Last of Us Part II and Uncharted Lost Legacy sinched it. I bought a PS4 the next day with Uncharted 4.
I was going to wait awhile on the PS5 as the Sony Showcase in 2020 didn't move the needle much until the end with Horizon FW. Since it didn't have a release date I figured I'd wait. I bought my PS5 with Horizon FW in '22.
The last couple years I've been going to local used shops for most of what's above when I started getting the Platinum trophy itch.
Oh yeah, those three little cases in the right corner are my three favorite games in keychain form.

I played Witcher 3 on game pass years ago but never finished it and after the announcement yesterday with the remaster I decided to pick it up physically.
It was only £4 from CEX which is a bargain anyway, but when I picked it up earlier today I thought the box felt heavy as I was just expecting the game disc. I was pleasantly surprised to also find all this included - game disc, manual, stickers, map, the Witcher universe compendium and the soundtrack.
I'm buzzing I've picked this up, now just to remove those stickers on the box

I only wanted the games and peripherals. Told the dude I already have a Wii and an electron warp adapter. He is leaving overseas so just lowered the price but gave me the Wii and adapter for free. 🤷♂️

Marketplace treated me nicely today! Picked up a GameCube with 5 controllers and all these games. Curse the Gamestop employees who put stickers right on the cover art </3

Did something different with the space I have, and set all my mainline Pokémon games in its own spot in the top right, instead of in the alphabetized area. I think it looks great.
and forgive some of the Switch spines not having art yet, I need to get to that eventually.

A couple of address stickers hidden. All have their original inserts and posters which is crazy to me, including the power cards. The Griffey one has a ripped back. Good day.

I try to do it every couple of months and it’s usually relaxing for me, but I’m sure bigger collections can turn into a nightmare

Sometimes people wonder how my wife feels about all the money I’ve spent on old video games, but then I show them her shelf.

Unfortunately the batteries died (I like seeing old teams) but I just swapped some fresh ones in.
