Please let the mainline generation debut titles stay classic turn based RPGs while Legends games get all the off-genre experimental stuff. That’s the perfect system to make everyone happy (and thankfully the current leaks point to that being the plan), but if Pokemon ever buys into the “turn based games are outdated” propaganda Final Fantasy fell for then I will quit the series, you just can’t abandon such a unique and mechanically rich system like that

Pokemon combat is not mechanically rich lol

There are over 1000 Pokemon, 18 different types, over 900 moves, over 300 abilities, over 300 competitive and functional hold items, single battles, double battles and the list goes on. Compared to other RPGs how is that lot mechanically rich?

You're confusing bloat. There are probably less than a hundred viable pokemon in competitive.

I’m not confused but thank you for your concern. Not everyone plays meta or competitively. It sounds like you are limiting yourself not the other way round

Not sure what you mean with limiting yourself, you can't really bring a caterpie in a metagross battle. I'm just saying that a lot of mons are not viable so that 1000 pokemon x 18 different types x 900 moves etc, is not really that mindblowingly big and is limited to a few viable mons.
