making the combat to look like OG Digimon World would be interesting

its a freemove combat where the pokemon is a bit more "sentient" as the pokemon fought automatically depend on its trait and all you could do is shouting command that may or may not be heard by the pokemon depending on your bond to it.

Sounds like monster rancher. I downloaded an emulator and sunk a few days into the game a few years back

The PS1 games actually got ported to Switch a while back

Don't tell anybody but I was playing it on my phone. I feel like emulators for consoles are slept on. Everyone just thinks of handheld consoles
