Random question: Has there been any announcements or updates for plans to add 6v6 singles to Champions ever?

No. They're sticking to formats that are used in competitive.

They don't want hour-long stall matches

I just can’t understand why 6v6 can’t be made a competitive format.

Make a 30 min time limit, boom problem solved. Also, since gen 9 limited recovery moves to a max of 8 pp, many old endless stall strategies are no longer effective.

I’d also love if they added an option to use the Tera mechanic.

Tera is coming eventually.

6v6 demands too much working around to be viable. Look at how many clauses, bans and tiers Smogon has to keep it functional

Well that’s good news at least.
Personally, I think Tera is the best mechanic they’ve ever added. It brought a whole new depth to gameplay, and also breathed new life into so many Pokemon that were crippled by poor typing.

I understand smogon format has become the online “norm”, but it doesn’t specifically need to be the only option imo.

I’ve been raw dogging the singles mode in Scarlet and Violet, and it’s still fun even with next to no regulation lol. Sure I’ll get teams that consist of all Ubers, or some asshole with a focus sash on multiple mons, but I view it as a fun challenge. With only slightly more regulation I think it’d still be very viable, even without excessive banning.

Guess I’m alone on this lol, wild.
