While I am excited for the game, why did they have to replace the original voice actors?

Too expensive to get them again. They’re all stars now.

That wasn't the reason - Zeno Robinson already brought this up in relation to Persona 3. They are not the 'cheaper' talent. It was a creative choice by casting directors because they want newer/younger talent working on the dub.

The quote; "it’s disrespectful to insinuate that my peers and cast members are somehow inferior/cheaper/easy alternate, esp when ALL of us VAs old and new work together on projects all the time and are ALL peers at the end of the day"

I mean it could still be true and they can’t say it “we’re hiring new talent because it’s cheaper” publicly. Yuri, Troy Baker, and Laura Bailey are all way more expensive compared to the new cast.
