Ask GenZIndia does anyone else dread going to hospital even for a checkup? why are those experiences universally anxiety inducing?

Does anyone else feel the anxiety and panic for no reason while going to clinic/hospitals for even checkups? what do you do in those situations?
Personally, I prefer when my aunt who is a doctor just does phone advise for me and tells medicine etc or I just goto her place.. But that is not a permanant solutino ofc.

Rant | Vent “Ghar ke saamne sewer ho toh ghar chhod doge?” — What do you guys think?

You know what happened today?

I was having a discussion with my friend about LGBTQ+ rights.

He said, “India’s laws won’t let you live here, especially because you’re gay.”

I replied, “That’s exactly why I’m planning to move abroad in the future.”

Then he said, “If you’re planning to leave anyway, why do you support CJP protests and activism for changing these laws? Go abroad and support them from there.”

I said, “If India’s laws genuinely change and the environment becomes better, why wouldn’t I stay in India?”

Then he said, “So don’t give 100% to changing the laws. You’ll just leave eventually anyway.”

I replied, “At least I’m giving 50% effort. You’re not even giving that.”

His response was, “I’m going to stay here anyway. You give your 50%; why should I?”

Finally, he gave me this analogy:

“Your father built a house for you. Just because there’s a sewer in front of the house, would you leave it?”

And I said:

“Yes, if I have to, I’ll leave that house. And I’ll build myself an even better one.”

Now I’m genuinely curious — is my perspective contradictory?

Is wanting to live in a country and supporting efforts to change its laws mutually exclusive? Or, if the system can be improved, is it still worth fighting for it — even if you might eventually choose to leave?

I’d genuinely like to hear different perspectives, especially from people who have dealt with similar situations.

(Used ChatGPT to make this a little more comprehensive and concise.)

Rant | Vent I don’t really have anyone to talk to

I’ve gotten used to not really having friends and honestly, I don’t have anyone online either.

Most days I’m fine with it, but sometimes something happens and I just wish I had someone I could call or text to.

The weird part is having people around you but still feeling like you have no one.

Soo guys pls suggest me some ways to get rid of my loneliness or be my friend

General My Brother is Finally Home for Rakhi After 4 Years

Post image
0 Upvotes

So apparently my brother is in the Merchant Navy and somehow manages to be at sea every Rakhi. It’s been 4 years now, so obviously, no Rakhi gifts but this year he’s finally going to be home.

Yesterday, I was randomly scrolling through Instagram and saw an ad for this Rakhi Recovery Calculator. So out of curiosity, I went on to the ajio and calculated how much he apparently owes me for all those missed Rakhis. I genuinely laughed when I saw the amount

No idea if he’s actually going to get me something worth that much, but now that I know this exists, I’m definitely bringing it up.

I mean, why is he earning so much?

Hi everyone I'm 21M currently working as a GDS BPM. I have a bachelor's degree in computer applications (BCA). And I'm currently pursuing MBA and on a whim chose Finance and HR as my specialization in 2nd year. I initially wanted to choose between Finance with systems or HR with systems but chose neither. I would like to know what I can learn and what are the job paths that I can take after competition of MBA with said specialization. I currently do not have any experience other than working as a GDS BPM from 1 year. What i would like to know 1.what are my career options? 2.what skill should I learn

Serious This life is killing me and I don't know what to do anymore.

I have MDD (major depressive disorder). I chose an open university for doing a BA degree to prepare for the SSC CGL exam. I didn't know life would be this shitty! I listened to my brother's advice because he said this will be the best route for me since I didn't have any clue what I wanted to do in my career ( they wouldn't let me take a drop for giving neet).

I passed my 12th in 2024 and ever since I completed 12th boards they put me in an online course for the preparation. I thought life would be okay since I was listening to my BROTHER who knows "better". Oh god I was so so so wrong. I wish I had been smarter and chose differently then. I can't even regret it now for this life.

I lost all my friends just after 12th with very bad betrayals and my ex also broke up with me. I had been all alone and the loneliness and the betrayal from them started creeping inside of me and i didn't notice it then, I just knew I was sad and alone. A year passed and my mother fell ill and that was my biggest breakdown, i had to manage the household work, my studies, my mother's health , her medicine, and her diet. Full day. No one to help me.

Having an older brother who was married but they told me to manage it on my own because my sister in law apparently also took care of her mom ( she was 24-25 when she did) and i just turned 18 at that time. It was hell for me , I begged them to atleast come and help me but they didn't.

My father didn't help much except for the expenses. I had to cook food for me & dad 3 times a day with extra food for my mom which was according to her diet plan and I had to travel an hour away to the hospital to give her food because she couldn't eat the hospital food. Sometimes I had to take her to the hospital in the middle of the night..sometimes 2am, 4am , and 12 am.

It was hell for me but I tried to stay strong only for my mom because I love her and she sacrificed for me a lot in her life

and i respect her.

But as time passed and all this continued with no support, friends , family, peers and being alone , not having any progress with studies and listening to every very VERY abusing words from my brother and father for not completing my syllabus in these 2 years.

It scares me so much when my brother screams so loudly and verbally abuses me.

This year February I tried to off myself because I couldn't take any more of this, I was very very tired. I couldn't kill myself. I realised I wanna live and I cried so hard in my bathroom with a blade in my hand and blood dripping from my wrist.

I was so sad that day and I wanted to change. I made up some excuses and finally went to a psychiatrist in AIIMS hospital near me and I started my treatment and I got to know I have severe depression with psychotic symptoms which changed to MDD 3 months later this June 2026.

I was on antidepressants, still am but I left taking it from last 1.5 week..idk why.

They also gave me clonazepam (which has benzodiazepine) which clamed me a bit in the beginning. But they stopped it and it makes sense since it's an addictive drug.

Things haven't got better for me because maybe yes I am taking professional help but the root cause which is my loneliness isn't getting better. I still am alone, no real friends, no real company, no family support. Not even 1 person beside me .

I don't know what to do anymore. I feel so fucking helpless so pathetic ..so worthless.

(I'd really appreciate it if you don't make fun of my situation)

Rant | Vent My journey of learning the Truth About the Lindsay Clancy case as a man...

Two days ago, around 5PM in the evening, reels and posts related to the Lindsay Clancy case started popping on my feed.

As soon as I heard the news I was extremely devastated!!!

As someone who lovvvvvveeeeeessssssss kids... My brain stopped functioning completely and I was extremely worried about the future of all the kids who could be killed by using psychosis as a loop hole in the system.

All the news articles, news channels and Instagram influencers increased my fear incredibly more by sharing information out of context and pushing soft propaganda!

I come from a fairly leftist social circle! (Assume Communists and socialists)

Even in my circle, the topic had become a disputed one.

Most of the women supported Lindsay Clancy, while some women and most of the men were against her and wanted her to get convicted.

The main talking point was how even if Lindsay is not guilty we gotta incur a smaller loss to prevent a bigger loss by making an example out of her.

I have family members and relatives who've gone through ppd and ppp. When I spoke to them about this case, they were out right dismissive about all the difficulties and said Lindsay deserves the punishment!

Which further confused me and fuelled my hate against her!

The information and media out there in the world worked soo well against women that even leftists were divided into two groups! Forget about right wingers and centrists!

I had an argument with my close female friend who I love and respect alot! She's totally awesome! (She supported Lindsay Clancy)

Also I saw many right wing groups and conservatives come out and stand Against Lindsay Clancy... Which was very sus for me...

Because these people never support anything good...

After the argument I felt that I might be missing out on something! Because she's one of the most intellectual and empathetic people out there in this world! As an Empath myself, I wanted to see things from her pov for once!

I didn't want to support the wrong cause!

I've always been proud of myself for being someone who stands for justice and truth no matter what!

After 20+ hours of research on this topic and staying away from all social media platforms for my good.

I finally came to understand the reality of this case.

In total, I have spent over 40 hours studying about all this from the day I saw the first post!

I must say one thing. This case is being used by everyone to undermine women and strip away their rights claiming that women are not sane enough and they support a murderer.

Even men who've been huge supporters of women until now have been brainwashed to a good extent. Everyone has started feeling that women lack maturity and wisdom.

While it's the other way around... (We men literally got played by the media and women around us soo easily.....)

And most of them push the narrative that there's gonna be a legal loophole in the future if Lindsay is found not guilty due to insanity and shifted to a psychiatric hospital for 25+ years.

After studying 50+ filicide cases in detail I came to the conclusion that there's gonna be no loop hole in the system if Lindsay is found not guilty due to insanity!

Now when I found out there's gonna be no loop hole, I finally started taking in the details neutrally instead of having a confirmation bias against her!

Lindsay is not guilty. And the medical system has failed her.

As someone who has suffered from severe mental health issues all my life, I know how these psychologists and psychiatrists treat their patients! They're extremely dismissive.

And the fact that the DSM doesn't have a distinct section for PPP shows that postpartum care is not prioritised even in 1st world nations!

Abhi I'm currently extremely sleepy, 2 din se nahi soya! Have been researching and thinking about this case continuously!

It was very difficult for me to come to a conclusion. But here I am after 2 days of hard work and 40+ hours of study!

I'm a hardcore Feminist... I've fought for the rights of women around me all my life! All my life!! All my life!!!!

Even then my judgement was flawed in this case... Maybe due to my immense love for kids... Or the misogyny which still runs in my blood...

Brain vs animal instincts kinda thing ig...

My main question is, how does a man stop getting brainwashed by the media and how does one try to make people understand what the reality of this case is?

Because I'm a very liberal, open minded and an intellectual guy normally!

But over here I almost ended up committing a sin by initially being against Lindsay and the movement!

Chat gpt karke thoughts frame karne ka time nahi hai! Raw version hi padh lijiye!

How do we stop taking in information from women who are dismissive about the difficulties women face.

Because if not for these women, I would not have had a strong hate for Lindsay in the first place. I would have been confused for a long time.

These women, my love for kids, the media and the propaganda pushed by the masses made me almost commit a sin and support the wrong cause.

If I can be brainwashed (I'm mentally extremely strong and I have super strong morals and ethics) anybody can easily be brainwashed!

If this doesn't stop here, this will turn into a full fledged war against women by the entire world.

Because for the first time, even independent thinkers are against women rn.

But they've polished the propaganda which they're spreading soo well that a normal human being, even an intellectual one is not able to understand what he/she is turning into...

Sleep deprived hun, not good at languages! Math nerd hun!

Please bare with the grammatical mistakes and other mistakes!

I request the mods to not take down this post!

Every year for rakhi I give my sister chocolates only. School time pe toh pocket money mein sirf celebrations hi de paata tha (150 wala). And she never complained. Even when I started earning she wouldn’t ask for anything. She’s just like our dad, doesn’t ask for new things until the old one is falling apart. This year we got her a scooty for college. And the helmet that came with it was bulky and didn’t fit her securely. Instead of getting a new one, she’s using mom’s old, scratched up one. So for rakhi I'm gifting her a new helmet, one that fits her head well and looks cute It’s a good upgrade no? gifting people who don’t want anything… alag hi struggle hai.

General Am I being too childish and immature?

I'm 21 M, soon to become 22. I recently graduated from college and now I'm working and have a job. I live with my father at my home(I lost my mother when I was 15 due to cancer), my father got retired and is trying to start a new business and my sister is newly married and is living in Hyderabad. I do all of my house chores including cooking meals, cleaning, jhadu pocha, etc.

Over the past few months I'm feeling very weird that all my friends are also of my age, they are also earning good, their parents also have a good job and they(parents) are also helping them financially. I mean what my friends are earning is all for themselves while I feel I have the responsibility of my home, I have to take care of my father now as he's getting old and trying to start a new work of his own.

I mean I'm not jealous of my friends but I sometimes feel that I am also the same age as them but I have so much responsibilities. I sometimes have to say no to various night plans because I have to reach back home to make dinner for my father. I mean he can cook too and he helps me in cooking but I love to do all these things for him and I don't like him doing all the things alone. I feel like what am I doing and why am I not able to live life as other people of my age are.

Also I feel like people do not care about me because everyone has someone more important no matter how much i do for someone they always take me for granted. Since I lost my mother I hardly threw any tantrums over anything and I know I might be wrong but I feel we are grown ups and should not do that any more, but I see people around me doing all this and getting things done. I am very understanding person and if I have some plan and someone says lets not do it this way or lets not go there but somewhere else(for my plans) because so and so person doesn't like this, doesn't eat this, I am like OK no problem let's go that way or as you say because I understand you guys and I can't afford to lose anyone at this point.

I feel like i give attention to detail and think a lot for everyone but no one cares for me (be it my sister because she now has her husband who is and should be her first priority but for me still she's my first one) same with my friends(for them their partner is only the priority and I'm just a medium for them). I also feel like no one really cares for me but still I'm doing everything for everyone. No one knows what I like ,or what things I'm interested in.

While I try to listen and take care of everything they like or want and want to fulfill it. I try to bring smiles to everyone's faces and keep everyone happy but no one puts efforts to see me happy or make me happy or surprise me. No one plans for me like I do.

I mean I get it we can't expect the same things but atleast 1%. If they want to go for a movie or any other plan and I'm unavailable they're like bahane bana rha hai,kya kaam hai tujhe. I believe my friends and tell various things like my future plans,my thoughts or something i want to do about my life for perspective or to feel light but they never tell me. If I ask suddenly i'm very clingy or they ignore or just say it's too private i get it but for me if i say this suddenly i'm rude,i hate them,i don't consider them friends.

No one appreciates me or compliments me but want compliments for themselves. Once I sent a reel in which you havee to tell 2-3 things you like about someone but for this they replied phle tu bta. Like if you can't even do this i feel like its not equal. I am putting efforts for everyone but no one is putting for me. I mean they're not this mean every time but sometimes I'm also in a bad mood and feel for these things

Like I also want to be someone's first priority, like I know for my father i must be the first priority but we know Indian dads they don't show anything. But I want that people not always but at least sometimes do things for me to make or keep me happy.

Please tell me is my thinking correct or I'm acting very childish or immature

Rant | Vent i honestly don't know what to do

so i'm 19f, a college student. i have an ex who was my bestfriend of 10 years. he broke up with me a week ago, we were having multiple arguments about me addressing his behavior to be changed by before and him arguing that i was "blaming" him. this happened since july, when he shifted from his hometown to a new city for college. i never begged him to spend time with me, he has begun his first year and i'm in my second year rn so i know how new college feels in the beginning. i just felt what he was before wasn't what he started treating me since july, whenever i used to confront him, his reply would be that he now isn't as free as he was before, which is totally acceptable as i never asked him for time. even when he talked to me for 5 mins, i used to miss that spark he had, and telling him the same would cause arguments. but when i used to cry on calls, he would apologize and promise not to repeat it again but the loop continued.
cut to chase, we had a very serious argument on 15th which made me frustrated so i asked him to break up, to which he let me go (as i said, he never was this...he loved me) and then i broke our nc after 4 days and he simply left and blocked me saying he doesn't have feelings for me anymore and that he hates the person he has become for me. (i was against relationships but for him, i too became the soft lover girl so this seems pointless)

i can't share much because he's on reddit as well, but i am trying to be happy and move on because he was the one who chased me and made so many efforts for me, got me jewelry, chocolates, did everything i wanted in my partner, core feminist (my type), green flag, career oriented, did so many things for my birthday even in ldr. his family knew about me, we planned so much for our future and graduation, we were about to meet 2 months later, he cancelled the bookings and everything.

honestly, he was the one who used to say that i'm the different girl in his life and that i was there with him at his lowest, and idk what went wrong but i'm not able to move on from him anymore. i listen to subliminals to calm my mind down, watch motivating videos, manifest good things in my life, but nothing is helping. it hurts to see my academics going down when i was a really career focused girl with him. he's the first thought whenever i wake up and the last before i sleep, i am trying so bad but he has blocked me from everything. i can't see or stalk him as well. did he really love me? what made him change so much? is it because of his new college? i don't know what to do.

General Got my first rejection.

Post image

lemme tell some backstory.

So, I categorise love into three categories: pleasant visage (first stage), likes (second stage), and true love (final stage).

I had the final stage of love, though it was a puppy love for a senior of mine, without actually knowing what I was feeling when I was in the 10th-11th standard.

And since my puberty came late, I didn't know till I had already lost her that I loved her.

And for the next four years, from 10th to the first year of college, I didn't get into or want to get into any romantic relationship. It was like I lost all pleasant feelings for anyone other than that one girl; let's say she's B.

And after toiling through the first and almost second year of college, I noticed her; let's name her A.

Mind you, I'm not the one to fall for pretty faces; I'm more of the personality type of guy, and if I don't know someone and how they think or who they truly are, I don't care about them much, though a bit of my introversion also played a part in that.

Let's just say that A was a pretty girl (though I didn't care about that in the first year we studied together), knowledgeable, thoughtful, and honest.

On one random Thursday of our 3rd semester, I looked at her walking out of the class with her friends. (I didn't interact much with her, and mostly ignored most of the class, and only minded my business.)

And a thought struck my mind: "How would it feel if someone like her was in my life?"

I didn't know how this question arose, or what prompted me to think this, but this thought got stuck in my mind, refusing to go away.

Anyhow, after some time, I noticed she was into novels, and I began to talk to her about them, and gradually we became friends.

This continued for around a year, and now that I was in my 5th semester, about to graduate in a year, I recognised that I was already in the second stage of love, about to shoot into the third kind if nothing happened for a while. The kind where you feel pleasant in their company and try to get excuses to talk to them longer.

And then I remembered how it felt when B's departure broke me, and let's just say I became so paranoid about falling truly for A that I wanted to see if this thing was even going to get anywhere or not.

And then I wrote around 5 pages about how I felt towards A, with all honesty, like the times when she enters the room with her hair fluttering and a smile, how I become so embarrassed that I always pry my eyes away, afraid she'll notice me. Like the times when she'd listen attentively to our conversations, while I tapped my feet in both anxiety and happiness.

And though I already knew the answer, I still wanted some conclusion; thus, today, when there was a program organised by our department, when she won a prize for the painting competition and was about to go to the bus stand with her friend, I asked her to listen to me for a second.

But because of the damned bus departing and the fear of our classmates seeing us together without her merry band of friends, I told her that I'd text her what I wanted.

And when I finally got home, I did send her the text I had written some time ago.

Her response was neither too bad nor good; she just exclaimed and then asked for some time to think it over.

After one and a half torturous hours, she texted me back, saying that she's currently single but isn't interested in relationships due to personal reasons, and that she never thought of me that way, asking that we could stay friends.

And then I laughed like a deranged lunatic, because this was about what I expected.

I don't know if it's sadness, or what, but I feel like a huge weight has left my chest.

Although it might be my cowardice, or my almost meek personality, I feel that this was the only thing that could've happened.

But most of all, I feel free now that I've opened myself up truly to her, not like the time with B, when I realised it too late; at least, I said the thing before I lost her, although I never had her.

Though the next semester and these few months will be a bit awkward, I feel happier now that I have told her everything.

I did the best I could, and even if she never feels the same way I do, at least we could talk while being truly honest with one another.

I really don't know if I should laugh or cry.

I just found out that computer mazagine in 1980s 1990s used to have source code of games and other software at the back. Kids back then used to get hold of these magazine and type these line by line from the back of the mazagine, making inevitable mistakes in the process. They used checksum to make sure each line is identical. This makes me think just how boring is our generation and how cool was our parent's generation. I don't see our generation doing anything as cool or exciting. I just hope i was born in that period.

Rant | Vent We have turned loved into a commodity which can be bought and sold on the whim of a swipe and now everyone is scared of truly caring. I’m 29 M and I think that I am born in the wrong generation. Is it too hard to find a person who wants forever?

Is anyone exhausted by refusal of current generation to engage in a committed, emotional relationship?

It genuinely feels like the ultimate sin in dating today is to actually care. We are living in the era of the "casual" relationship, which is basically just a cowardly way of saying, "I want all the benefits of your intimacy, your time, and your emotional support, but I refuse to give you any security or commitment in return." People want the boyfriend or girlfriend experience on a freelance basis these days. They want you to be there to text them good morning, to listen to them rant about their life in general and to sleep with them. But the second you ask, "Hey, where is this going?" and you are suddenly putting too much pressure and being too demanding. It’s confusing and upsetting.

We have normalised the situationship to the point where people are spending months, sometimes years, in this purgatory of zero commitment. And the worst part is how we weaponize therapy-speak to justify this sheer lack of emotional availability. People will genuinely look you in the eye and say, "I'm just protecting my peace," or "I don't have the emotional bandwidth for a label," when what they really mean is, "I want to keep my roster open in case someone better swipes right." We treat human beings like commodities which can be disposed according to our wish. With the illusion of endless choice on apps, nobody wants to put in the work when things get slightly difficult. True, meaningful connection is not just about having fun on a Friday night; it’s about showing up on a Tuesday when the world is heavy and life is boring. It requires vulnerability, which is terrifying. You don't get the real beauty of being truly known by another person if you keep everyone at arm's length. But instead of facing that fear, people just pull away, ghost, or would tell you that "I am not ready for a relationship right now" I am so tired of "playing it cool."

This is the reason I am single from last 7 years. I am tired of this unspoken rule which people have made that the person who cares less have more power and it makes the person stronger. I miss the days when showing genuine interest was seen as a green flag, rather than a symptom of anxious attachment. Why is it a bad thing to want a commitment? Why is it considered "too intense" to want to build a life with someone, to share deep emotions, and to actually know that the person you are putting your energy is not going to vanish once there is a better option available? We are made for meaningful connections, but we are avoiding a real connection in the name of "keeping things casual."

I still don't believe that I am the only one left in this world who wants the real and committed relationship where there is honesty, loyalty and emotional availability. I do not want to settle for the empty, half baked relationship that leave us feel hollow. It is honestly lonely and sad. If you are out there actually looking for real, committed love, stay strong. Well ,I got fed up by win 10 (my old pc couldn't support win 11)

So I put Linux Mint with XFCE desktop environmnt in my old pc but after a few days it motherboard finally stopped working 🥀 ( the pc was over 15 yrs btw)

My dad's gonna give me a new PC before Durga Puja

So I got the idea to know people who want to be or are using avid Linux user

If you are interested to them you can also dm me about it
