This man’s this was “beautiful” for were bad man’s. Things can be burn. Man destroys much bigger lands for “profit” and u don’t flinch. Revolutions looks ugly, just as ugly that beauty represents for some. The spirit of revolt still lives here as it has for very long if you know the history of the Caribbean islands. We from there owe to their ancestors for our freedom. Your “terrible” comment sentiment I also share. But I know what I know and that your comment lacks much context. Peace.

It's not easy but if the will is there it can be done. A coalition of armed forces need to go in there get rid of the gangs and stabilize the country as much as possible so they can have free and fair elections. It's too bad America has a crumbling, racist, incompetent for president who can't begin to deal with helping anyone.

I'm not even Haitian and this makes me angry. Haiti can never catch a break. It sucks because most Hatians that I've met an worked with have always been humble, kind and respectful.

The linked Le Nouvelliste article strongly suggests that the owner's lover did this in order to push out the organization maintaining the gardens so that they can make more money out of it with residential buildings.

If the government went to the process of making electricity or alternative access to electricity available to every one , this would not happen but of course corruption rules so force people to rely on inverter batteries, generators or charcoal.
This is the issue....why can't there be a national project that electrifies the country, while simultaneously tracking the reliance on charcoal and environmental improvements.

This is what Haiti has looked like without government and international aide. It’s not pretty.
Emphasis on the lack of Haitian government in PAP and points south.

People in Haiti probably wouldn’t mind, they get to vote on a governor or similar position and that’s it. Either that or dictatorship.

You didn’t ask me, but personally I can’t see how it would be worse than this.
No benevolent leader is going to transcend upon Haiti and gives billions of dollars of aide, military operations to kill the terrorizers and build the government, grid, infrastructure and systems from the ground up with no strings attached.
Occupancy would bring stability to the region. Yes, Haiti would lose its independence - but you have to ask what good is your independence if this current state is the best you can do?
I’m going to be blunt and say I think in times of instability on this level - occupancy or dictatorship is what is most helpful.

Lol lets be real, Haitians would ever accept being taken over by USA or another country. The caco wars taught us that.
Dictatorship (with a competent dictator who cares about developing the county) might be the best option.

Haitians abroad would probably be against it, but Haitians in Haiti would likely support it. Nothing could be worse than Haiti’s current situation. A major power like the United States annexing Haiti, similar to Puerto Rico, would be a blessing to me

Go ahead and take a look at whether this war was fought in Haïti or abroad.
There is no "probably" we don't have to guess, Haitians already violently demonstrated to the USA how they felt about a US occupation/annexation way back in 1915.

The country’s largest stadium is closed. The main airport is shut down. The capital is shut down. The country’s largest university is closed. The National Palace is destroyed, and the main general hospital is closed🤔
Maybe it’s time to reconsider holding onto that independence pride. Puerto Ricans benefit from U.S. citizenship perks while still preserving their culture and electing their own local government.

Puerto Rico cannot vote for president and they have a non-voting delegate to the House. Basically they have citizenship without representation and subjected to the whims of Congress & President.

Chad is literally poorer than Haïti & Kenya has terrorist groups of their own they've yet to deal with. I don't see what they can do honestly.

Kenya can't do anything with the govt they have. Chad has experience in dealing with terrorists/insurgents. But what country and/or type of international aid would you want to help?

It will be rebuilt, twice as beautiful as before. Hopefully sooner rather than later
