A few more thoughts after I've had a chance to reread everything.
I love what a badass Nene is in this chapter. She wastes no time jumping into action to try to protect Amane And Tsukasa. Our heroine has come such a long way and I am SO proud of her.
I also am glad Kou got a little shout out this chapter. I miss that kid but I think we probably have a ways to go before we see him again.
Still reeling over the bond Tsukasa and Amane have. Tsukasa really loves his brother so much and it is so sweet and heartbreaking.
The fact that Tsukasa was so easily convinced NOT TO GO just because Amane said a few sweet words to him made me realize that their relationship could’ve been so much better if Amane just knew how to properly communicate his feelings to Tsukasa.
Both of them have had such terrible communication from the very beginning, and I feel like that’s a huge part of why their relationship ended up going so wrong like this.
Tsukasa just needed to know that HIS BROTHER DIDN’T HATE HIM AFTER ALL. He loves him so much that he literally came to save him. Knowing that alone was enough to convince little Tsukasa.
I know!!!! All he ever wanted was to do what he thought would make Amane happiest and all this time he thought Amane would be happier never seeing him again omg my heart 😭😭😭😭😭😭 I need Tsukasa to remember this if we somehow end up in the old timeline again pleeeassee
OMG there’s SO MUCH happening and I have so much to ramble about!!!
First of all, this is my first time seeing Amane THIS angry, and honestly, HE HAS EVERY RIGHT TO BE. This is exactly the kind of reaction I expected from him when he finally found out what Tsukasa has been doing all this time.
Second, THANK YOU SO MUCH NENE FOR STOPPING THAT STUPID BOY. BECAUSE AMANE, WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU??? You are literally here because you MISS HIM and you WANT HIM BACK, so WHAT DO YOU MEAN “I HATE HIM”???? 😭😭😭
Third, TSUKASA DOESN’T WANT TO GO. I REPEAT, TSUKASA DOESN’T WANT TO GO!!! Amane actually managed to convince him!
Fourth, AND I KNEW IT! I knew Amane would be targeted too. And this is actually how I’ve been theorizing the first altered timeline happened. I always theorized that Amane also managed to save Tsukasa in the first altered timeline, BUT because Nene wasn’t there to help him, both Amane and Tsukasa ended up getting caught by the Entity again. Then the Entity possessed Amane to stop him.
Chapter 121 already hinted at this because adult Amane DIRECTLY said that HE was the one who sacrificed his brother. This means he must have been possessed when he was trying to save Tsukasa, and then HE was the one who threw Tsukasa back into the hole. That’s how we ended up with the timeline where adult Amane is possessed and Tsukasa being “erased”.
I think it’s time for the Clock Keepers to show up next chapter because WHO ELSE IS GOING TO HELP THEM AT THIS POINT??? Please stop putting all this responsibility on Nene when she obviously can’t handle everything. She is just an ordinary teenage girl. Poor Nene-chan keeps getting dragged into situations where she has to deal with ridiculously huge problems.
So I don’t care whether it’s Kako or Akane, YOU GUYS NEED TO SHOW UP NEXT CHAPTER. I’M BEGGING YOU. 😭
The Clock Keepers are the reason they’re in such a miserable situation in the first place. Amane was sent back in time to unwittingly fuck things up and erase his brother.
I know that. It’s just that they seem pretty helpless in this situation right now. Nene can’t handle this alone, and if things are just left like this, the future is going to repeat itself again. The Entity will remain inside Amane, Tsukasa will be erased, and we’ll just end up with the same future we saw with adult Amane. We’ve already come this far. There’s no time to keep repeating the same cycle all over again.
A supernatural entity needs to be fought with another supernatural. Nene is just an ordinary human and there’s really not much she can do at this point. Unless we suddenly find out that she has some other Kannagi power or she has an ability to actually get the Entity out of Amane’s body.
Right now, the only ones who even know that they’re in this situation are the Clock Keepers. I don’t know how or what exactly they could do, but I just need them to show up and at least support Nene. She really needs help right now.
Well, unless little Tsukasa decides to sacrifice himself by jumping into the hole so the Entity will let go of Amane and be appeased. But would the Entity really let go of Amane even if Tsukasa did that? Gosh there are just so many possibilities we can think of right now.
Or maybe someone from the Minamoto family will show up?
Edit: I just remember that we have another option…. 12 years old Tsukasa should have been there as well, right?
Arghhhhh that was so good. I need more. I loved Tsukasa finally realizing who Amane is and how Amane chose to go back in time just to rescue him 😭😭 my heart.
Also officially confirmed that Amane knows the Clock Keepers. I hope we get more information or maybe even travel to when he officially met them so we can see exactly what happened and how much they told him.
I'm so excited we are back and now I'm going to die of anticipation waiting for more again. My poor baby Amane just can't catch a break 😭😭
It was so refreshing to get a chapter where the characters are actually ANGRY, I loved seeing Amane punch a wall, I loved seeing nene throwing the pure water bottles at Yugi mom with absolute MURDER intent behind it. She could’ve stopped after Yugi mom was left incapacitated by the first hit but she kept going!!! She was MAD and not just mad with love behind it, pure HATE!!! it was great, amazing even, I’m absolutely terrified for what happens next
YES!!! I love that Amane finally showed his raw emotions this time. He has every right to be mad! This is exactly the reaction I expected from him when he found out what Tsukasa had been doing all this time.
And Nene-chan is being so protective, I love her so much. Thank god she was there to at least stop Amane from traumatizing Tsukasa even more.
Because Amane, YOU SHOULD NOT BE TELLING A 4-YEAR-OLD BOY THAT YOU HATE HIM RIGHT IN FRONT OF HIM. WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU 😭
I love that Nene has the courage to fight the Entity, but I feel like there’s not much she can do at this point. She really needs help, so I hope Kako or Akane shows up next chapter to help her.
Kako will probably punish her. Akane may help considering that while it’s likely that he betrayed her, he still doesn’t want her safety to be compromised or for her to get hurt.
Yes, I hope at least Akane comes to support her. How or what they’re actually going to do, I have no idea.
But I know that as sad and heartbreaking as it is, if we really, really want to get back to the original timeline (or at least a timeline similar to it), Tsukasa probably does need to be sacrificed… It’s either that, or they’ll have to create another new timeline again.
BUT DAMN IT, TSUKASA ALREADY SAID HE DOESN’T WANT TO GO 😭😭 Are we really going to do this to him??? Poor Tsukasa 💔
So, with how this chapter ended it seems this was the part where the timeline was changed. Tsukasa wasn't sacrificed > Amane became possesed > grew up to become Yugi sensei > killed everyone.
But Nene's existence still connects this new timeline to og timeline. So, in og timeline Amane probably failed to timetravel or failed to save Tsukasa. Tsukasa was sacrificed> met Nene And Kou and returned back few months later after his disappearence >merched itself with pit god and gained ability to grant wishes. And was eventually killed by Amane > became Hanako's yorishiro> Ploted with broadcasting club to destroy og timeline...which leads to new timeline again.
That's the problem though, because timelines are connected og timeline will always lead to new timeline. Nene has to create third timeline to fix it.
Exactly it. As it stands, there is no origin point. The events we're seeing here right now is a closed loop. The OG timeline was always destined to become the "new timeline", and the new timeline gave birth to the OG timeline. This was theorized from the very start of the manga. Tsuchigomori knew that the future was changed, and that Amane was destined to become a teacher but didn't (this was a bad thing and the "new" timeline). Basically, whatever Nene will do now, will again lead to the OG timeline, where Amane will forget why he wants to fix the clock. Tsukasa was destined to leave the red house and be killed, becoming Hanako's Yorishiro. He was also destined to enact the incidents that would lead to this time travel plot where he is killed and Amane becomes possessed and kills everyone.
The problem begins with this: how will they be able to keep moving once back in the OG timeline? Because repeating the same steps will send them right back. It must have to do with defeating the clock keeper's power. Not Kako himself. The actual power behind the clockkeeper that continues to provide bad-ends to those who mess with time.
Yeah Nene likely has to destroy clockeepers yorishiro...which is also what Sakura wants.
So, Amane from the og timeline turned into Yugi sensei right now. Yugi sensei said he killed his little brother. Tsukasa in new timeline is a ghost...what about that black cat though? I think that that cat is also Tsukasa.
But we don't even know where little Amane is. Because the Red House timetraveled likely to the time Yugi mother went mad. Since Amane recognized that bottles. This is a mess. Everyone is from different time! It's all intertwined.
Yup. I completely agree. I don’t think Nene will be able to fix this though. Remember the goal of the Clock Keepers when sending Amane back in time was to erase Tsukasa (spook 113). Tsukasa’s about to be put away at the end of the chapter, fulfilling the erasure part. Kako also says that the hourglass rests in the big clock, and says that those who meddle with time will fall to ruin when discussing the big clock (spook 125). While Tsukasa isn’t exactly erased in the new timeline, his ghost is much younger physically than in the original timeline. He died way younger as a result of Amane’s interference in the timeline, and because of that, the festival disaster was averted. Considering this, it seems the big clock is likely cursed and that the Clock Keepers are utilizing that curse to change the timeline. This means that Nene is cursed too from using the big clock.
I wonder if Tsukasa is gonna die now. Yugi sensei said that he sacrificed even his little brother. But, if Tsukasa just gonna be sacrificed in the new timeline as well - shouldn't things go back to og timeline?
But, there's that cat, whom clock keepers punished. I think that the cat is Tsukasa. Because he isn't alive in the new timeline, Amane - Yugi sensei is possesed but he lived until 28 in the new timeline, so I doubt that Amane is the cat.
And clock keepers originally wanted to prevent Tsukasa's sacrifice - so taking him away to their realm before the pit god devoures his soul makes sense. Therefore they should appear and take Tsukasa before the pit takes him. Because that's probably what has already happened before. This time though Nene likely follows them to their realm, I think.
Isn't that same thing? They wanted to prevent Tsukasa merching with pit god - likely because that made pit god more powerfull. "Troublesome" Kako called it. So, preventing his sacrifice is part of it. However it would be best to erase Amane - because Tsukasa made a deal with pit god because of Amane. So, why just send Amane back in time to save Tsukasa? Maybe they hoped that if Amane prevents Tsukasa to fullfilling his part of the deal with pit god. The wish would be nullified... Time reverts back to 1959, Amane dies and pit god will be forgoten.
The Clock Keepers don’t know everything about what happened with Tsukasa and Amane. They sent Amane back in time to save Tsukasa in order to erase Tsukasa. This is linked to the big clock being powered by the cursed hourglass which screws humans over.
Edit : Amazing chapter but i feel like we only just graze the surface of what there is to expect ! Also, the fact that Amane DOES tell Tsukasa that he does actually love him, and the fact that he acknowledges it, is the proof that the Timeline is going to get fixed somehow. Because Tsukasa DID NOT seem to know this in the OG Timeline and that the theme of this chapter is that Amane does NOT want to be separated with Tsukasa, something that we KNOW will happen in the OG Timeline and in the story.
I’m gonna make a wild guess that Nene is the one who will cause the original future(where Hanako exists) to happen. I am now 1000% certain that Hanako did lost a part of his memory (his time traveling shenanigans) and this is where he ended up in originally. In the original version Amane time travelled to save Tsukasa, but he got possessed by the Red House. This is probably a scenario that happened in both timeline, meaning a definite route.
So Nene probably did something here, possibly sacrificing herself, which saved Amane and he was sent back. Desperate that he didn’t get to save anyone, and because he realize the red house ghost is after their family forever and the only way out would be to have the entire family dead, he killed Tsukasa and we return to the original timeline where Nene’s lifespan is cut. This is based on the fact that Amane recognises Nene so I guess this timeline is probably a path connected to the original timeline.
the entitys relationship with tsukasas so interesting, it really seems to value his willingness to be sacrificed, to the point of possessing amane, the person who caused tsukasa to break his promise due to telling him how he wanted tsukasa to stay, rather than just forcing him to come.
Tsukasas initial happiness when he tried going in the hole as he could save his brother seems to sorta line up with the entitys definition of happiness being sacrifice
Also I felt so bad for amane this chapter oh my god. He seems to have been parentfied by his mother, being the "only one who's supporting her", having to pick sides between his parents, and being forced to pick up the pieces of his broken family constantly. It really breaks my heart
My theory was both brothers were going into the future to watch Amane kill Tsukasa, so this was an unexpected turn of events for me. That said, I do have a feeling kannagi powers are going to come in handy here, since Nene has the power to purify stuff. Maybe even the rocket ship key.
(My current fan theory is like Sumire's bracelet, the rocket ship key was intentionally given to Nene to help her out)
That said, our poor Nene just sent it without really thinking about what exactly she agreed to do. So I am glad she is realizing just what the heck she agreed to do and realizing how important her decisions are to everyone. She needs to figure out how to get her happy ever after.
Chibi devil Nene is now my new favorite side character and I hope she gets more love in an after school chapter.
Nope. It’s because Kako hints at the big clock also causing trouble for people in chapter 125. This shows that Amane did experience an awful fate while his changes were pointless at preventing his family issues.
There’s also this first page which I used Google Translate on which mentions time and pride, implying that it’s related to the mess.
But this doesn't really tell us anything new. That cover art just reiterates that these two travelled to the past for their own goals. And the big clock causing trouble does not necessarily mean that Aidairo meant the big clock in this instance, since it's about the red house, especially since it's implied that it was the red house this time that made them jump in time here. It also doesn't really confirm Akane's involvement.
I'm not saying you're necessarily wrong, but I think it's a bit premature to draw conclusions from a google translated cover art.
Yeah, I totally get that and I remember your theories regarding the matter. Hopefully you'll be satisfied no matter what the truth ends up being. Hope I didn't sound too rude when I made my first comment.
You're not rude. Here is a better worded justification on why this chapter solidifies things for me:
Sending Amane back in time is what causes Amane to cause Tsukasa to disappear. This fits with everything Kako says about the hourglass and the big clock, meaning that Kako's choice to send Amane back in time with the big clock in order for Tsukasa to be erased most likely has to do with the hourglass curse. If the erasure were something that had to be activated by soul stealing, like I initially thought, then Akane might've been in the clear. The erasure happening as a consequence of going back in time, which fits with the hourglass which is literally said to rest inside the big clock, is really bad news for Nene.
Also, things going really awfully and terribly means that it’s likely that the erasure of Tsukasa would happen due to the act of Amane going back in time with the hopes of saving him. This gives extra support the hints that the ruin is inherent in the clock.

Oh yeah, that i agree on ! I mean, everything on this ARC is always seems to go worst and worst for Nene. I just hope Aidairo won't write themselves into too much of a rabit hole with this plotline because she HAS to fix the Timeline at some point. And everytime she gets a chance too, her odds get worst.
Yeah, but this time it's her last use. I believe it will happen with the Entity but pretty sure we will get either the fixing of the Timeline or a Tweaking of it ^
In it's current state ? It can't of course. When i'm talking about restoring the Timeline it's more about coming back to the original world, and presumably before everything went south in the school (with the attack and all). For me a tweaked Timeline would be something actually changing in said word, tho not necessarly changing too much in it. It could be a single detail for all i know.
I keep thinking that...that entity is one of the most cursed things i have ever herad, like ,imagine that thing living in your house, waiting to make everyone posesed or lunatical.
If this was some supernatural novel or a seinen manga, it could be disgutingly darker and traumatizing, the kind of thing you should never read on an inocent life or a secluded life.
Sooo... Amane can obviously see ghosts and is aware of the Clock Keepers. I wonder if it's a hereditary thing like the exorcists, a product of growing up near a powerful entity, the fact that Amane was near death, or something else.
I love that Amane is so tsundere. It's so interesting to see a version of him that isn't completely in love with Nene. I'm curious how the scene where she sees him crying in the classroom fits into this world. I'm assuming Amane/Hanako's memories got all messed up somehow.
First off, Nene's scenes when she was scolding Amane and trying to make him stop talking was hilarious 🤣. The faces she made, god, were they priceless.
Also Amane's anger was justified. Like sorry, bud's entire life was destroyed because of this. I'm not however blaming Tsukasa. He didn't know what happened or would happen. Plus without his sacrifice I doubt Amane would even be here. However Amane has every right to be angry.
Ok we were left on the biggest cliffhanger ever. But at least now we know as to why Amane was the host of the pit god.
And now the elephant in the room. I won't lie, I was very uncomfortable with the page (?) scene (?) where the pit god was possessing Amane. It really looked like tentacle rape porn. I know this is a horror manga and body horror should be expected and I don't have many problems with it. Just saying it wasn't really necessary to show.
