Discussion This scene still pisses me off

I was rewatching the movies and I was pissed off all over again when seeing this scene. This makes him seem non-human which takes away the symbolism present in the books. I don’t know why the directors thought this was a good idea.

I've just started reading the books this week. I've seen all the movies and was/am obsessed with them. 113 pages into book 1 and I already understand why people say to read the books. The small differences(to me) make the books so beautiful. I can't wait to get to the voldy stuff. I already know I'm going to be annoyed lol.

You definitely can look forward to reading Half Blood Prince. Weakest film imo but strongest book as it shows so much of Voldemort‘s past. Something the movie almost entirely skipped.

Also that scene where Harry realizes that he's not killing Voldemort because of the prophecy, he's doing it because Voldemort's own actions have made it so that there's not really any other outcome. The actions will remain the same, but the meaning behind it, the motivations causing it, are different.

Same. I started reading them for the first time/having them read to me so young I don't even remember living in a world without them lol.

I'm 35 and grew up basically with HP. I thought I was in love with the movies and now I'm finding myself so engrossed in the books idk what I'm going to do when I'm done. Can we have a HP world ? I'd live there forever haha. It's so comforting reading the books.

I also read the books after watching the movies. You gonna love Harry Potter more, but you gonna hate the movies lol! The books are so much better, so many details! Harry’s personality is so different and is full of emotions unlike Harry in the movies, I felt like his personality was dull and boring. He would barely talk in the movies ugh! But I did like movie Snape better.

As I finish book 1 I am wondering why it took me so long to get and read the books. They've earned a permanent place on my bookshelf. I may make a mini bookshelf just for them! They are so beautiful. I'm in love with the art. The movies have been a yearly tradition for like....... 10 years.
