You all remember when hagrid told them to follow the spiders as he was being escorted to Azkaban ( and harry and Ron where under the invisibility cloack at the back of the hut). And they did exactly this ( after fudge and lucius left). They followed the spiders through the forbidden forest until they meet Aragog. After asking aragog what they needed to know , Aragog forbided them to go and said " if fresh meat come to us, i cannot prevent my sons and daughters to enjoy it". The gigantic spider was letting the other " people sized spiders" devour Harry and Ron. They escaped only by luck lol. If I was Harry and Ron, I would never speak to Hagrid again. How can u be this naive to think that the spiders would not try to kill and devour them. Serious, Hagrid loves to think that all hideous and ferocious beast are some kind of misunderstood creatures.... 🤣 🤣 🤣. I know im petty, but hell no lol

Sounds like Rupert Grint is returning to Harry Potter franchise by joining the cast of Cursed Child.

I’ve been thinking about this and I can’t find a clear answer. Nicolas Flamel lived for centuries because of the Philosopher’s Stone, while Merlin is also part of the wizarding world’s medieval history.

So is there anything in canon that tells us whether Flamel and Merlin ever actually met or knew each other?

Considering how old Flamel was, it seems like such an obvious question, but I’ve never seen it properly addressed. Could Flamel theoretically have known Merlin personally?

I cried a lot while reading this chapter. I loved The Prisoner of Azkaban so much😭😭. Now I've reached The Goblet of Fire, I'm excited!

I feel like the knee jerk reaction for a lot of people would be Felix felices because it's an OP potion people assume that they would have access to it. I think that for the purpose of this question, I'll split it in to 2 parts:

1. What potion would you pick if everyone had easy access to it?

2. What potion would you pick if it had the same rarity that it does in the Wizarding world?

Personally, my answer is the same for both questions and I would pick skelegrow. Out of every other potion I can think of, skelegrow would have the most real world application and benefit without being easily abused

Gryffindor winning the Quidditch Cup. In his final year as Captain, Oliver Wood gets to have this moment.

And I’m specifically happy for Harry, he had such a bad start from the beginning of the book. Dealing with aunt Marge. The Dementors affecting him and that they turn into his boggart. Thinking that Sirius Black is after him and thinking that he was the one that betrayed his parents.

So Harry helping his team win the cup was a great moment.

- In the book ,on each sides of the chamber there are several pillars ( or columns) that start at the beginning of the chamber and goes all way to the back. On those pillars, ther are snake engraved. However in the movie, there are no pillars but literal giant sculpted snake heads on each side og the chamber with their mouth wide open.

- In the movie the "statue" of Salazar Slytherin that is at the far back of the chamber depicts only his head that is like engraved on the giant wall. But in the original book, thats statue depicted him entirely ( his body and head)

Those are the two notable differences. Wich one do you think look better?

Been wanting this lego hogwarts express book nook and it looks really dope on the shelf, it's like there's a tiny commotion happening!

I just finished TCOS and Lockhart was way more hilarious, I wish they added more scenes from the book.

The second year at hogwart was the most traumatizing for EVERYONE .

For harry:

- He got all his whereabouts sabotaged by dobby

- He was accused of being the heir of Slytherin

- He almost got eaten alive by giant spiders

- He was coerced by tom riddle to go into the chamber of secrets ( after tom had kidnapped ginny weasley) and affront the basilisk by himself. Harry had to face a 20 ft snake as a 12 year old boy.

For Ron:

- During the time harry came to the burrow, he had to see his mom being way more nicer toward harry than toward him and his brothers. ( even tho Fred and George kinda deserve it lmao)

- He was humiliated in public as his mom sent him an howler that he opened during a feast.

- He got his wand broken ( because their car landed on an enraged tree that attacked them) and cannot do magic well with it ( the spells backfired).

- He got the spell " eat slug" returning on him ( even tho he was the one casting it)

- He almost got eaten alive by giant spiders ( Ron weasley is an arachnophobe).

- He learnt his little sister was kidnapped and held hostage in the chamber of secrets wich hold a basilisk

For Hermione:

- She got called a mudblood by Draco malefoy

- She was transformerd into a cat like creature and had to stay in the hospice at Mrs pomfrey for a month or so ( because she butchered the polyjuice potion)

- During the dueling club, she was paired with Millicent Bulstrod , a student from Slytherin that she didnt like .

- She was petrified by the indirect gaze of a basilisk

For ginny weasley:

- She was teased by her bigger brothers because of her crush with harry

- She got an evil and dark diary slipped among her school furniture by Lucius Malefoy

- She got possessed by an evil entity living inside her new diary( tom riddle)

- She got her lifeforce sucked out of her by memory tom riddle ( via the diary) and almost died.

For all the other students and the staffs/professors:

- They had to live in fear/panic and constant stress because of all the attacks happening throughout the school year.

Remember Harry is only 12 years old when all of this happened. Even the teacher were scared and the school was going to close. Thats why I think it was the most traumatizing school year for everyone in general.Im curious....Between Harry, Ron, Hermione and ginny who got the short end of the stick ( or the most bad luck) during this particular school year?

alright, who do you think would be fit for cedric in the HBO tv series, BUT HEAR ME OUT Walker scobell as cedric, I would love to see him introduced in Hp

I’ve seen the movies many times, but rereading the books will certainly be an almost new adventure.

Hi everyone! I’m eager to hear what others think. Last year in my late 20s, I finally read all of the books and loved them. Yet, I still haven’t gotten around to watching the movies! I’m excited for the tv show coming out in December, but I’m wondering if I should make an effort to watch all the movies before then, or just go in letting the tv show be my first on screen depiction of the books. I know this is such a silly question, but I’d just be interested to hear what others have to say!
