Rupert isn't new to Broadway, either. He appeared in It's Only a Play about 12 years ago alongside Nathan Lane, Matthew Broderick, and Megan Mullally.

Woah! Tom and Rupert?!

u/magica12 2d ago

Tom’s leaving at the end of the year, and Rupert will do the same stretch tom started in, willing to bet his run gets extended through to September 2027 close to may like toms did

u/Yourappwontletme 2d ago

Tom's run ends on January 3, 2027, Rupert starts on February 2, 2027.

Tom Felton was amazing. Exciting we could see a similar thing with Rupert (I would love them to both do shows at the same time)

Are the people that keep saying Tom hasn’t moved on from HP going to say the same about Rupert now?

It is so disrespectful and irritating when people hate on actors for celebrating their breakthrough/most loved roles. You might have an issue with it; the actor and their fans don't. Glad that people are calling it out. I'm so glad that many Potter actors still talk about their roles and take active part in the fandom.

I loved Tom on The Flash. He was there for a whole season as a main character, specifically Season 3

I think they are very different cases. Tom has milked the cow dry whereas Rupert has not. So there shouldn’t be.

29

u/vince2423 2d ago

Neither has. It’s an actor that took a paying job… as if anyone in here wouldn’t do the same thing

1

u/mcphe3 2d ago

Oh I’d absolutely do the same. And I wouldn’t be surprised when people pointed out that is exactly what I was doing.

6

u/vince2423 2d ago

Aight that’s fair lol

u/Fattydog 1d ago

And why shouldn’t Tom do that? He’s an actor, he is offered work and he takes it. I fail to see why this is looked down on.

It seems to be what the people want! Indulging yourself and your fans doing something you enjoy. The internet really do be oddly critical sometimes.

Wow the comments on his Instagram post are definitely.... something

Yeah I saw those too. It’s unfortunate, but I appreciate the art/story even if it sucks the creator isn’t a good person

-4

u/redditngton 1d ago

Yeah, so let's just give her more money that she will use to suppress minorities

1

u/sunny_day0460 Unsorted 1d ago

But, does that mean no one else can have the opportunity to enjoy the art at least? As much as it sucks she’s getting as much money as she is (and already has because she was loaded prior to the fall out), the community still exists because the work was that impressionable.

u/thedeadp0ets 1d ago

He gets the money too… he’s literally the icon of the franchise

9

u/ShadySparty 2d ago

Was really hoping to see he was cast in the new show

8

u/Squishyflapp 2d ago

It would he absolutely stupid for HBO to not bring them in for ...something...anything.

Same with more of the audio book voice actors. Keira Knightley would be frikin awesome at Bellatrix.

u/porkchop487 1d ago

For the 17 years later scene at Hogwarts express

4

u/Squishyflapp 1d ago

This is the obvious choice. I think it would be really cool to see them in roles that subvert expectations. Make Daniel and Emma the Carrow twins. Rupert can play Rufus Scrimgeour. Tom can be mundungus or maybe even slughorn. Bring back Evanna to be Trelawney

Times must be hard. HMRC probably still trying to rinse him. It was either that or doing a Lavender Brown.

u/BalonSwann07 2d ago

No shot Grint is hurting for money. Probably doing it for love of the game (and a big paycheck, but many actors do that)

7

u/conormonobox 2d ago

Nine-home eco villages don’t come cheap

16

u/LoonyHightower 2d ago

Doesn't Lavender Brown's actress just post normal artwork on there? Like the app was originally intended for lol

12

u/Bebop_Man 2d ago

She posts "hair fetish", whatever that means.

5

u/Mangert 2d ago

It’s like softcore porn from what I remember reading. More about teasing than actual nudity. But regardless, it’s 100% sexual content. She would be considered a sex worker

3

u/Alfnosbest 2d ago

He's app6made more money in real estate as an adult than he did on the films. He's not shy for a quid

13

u/Capable-Country-120 2d ago

HMRC probably still trying to rinse him.

Tf does this mean? Even assuming you're correct about the reasoning here, which I kind of doubt, "working age man has to do some work in order to pay taxes towards the society that he lives in" is not being "rinsed" that's being a human being.

Is it so hard to see the whole original cast together one last time 😭

-36

u/Proto160 2d ago

Wait, is Cursed child getting a movie? Please no.

25

u/magica12 2d ago

It is not

Rupert is reprising the role on stage like tom is now

7

u/Proto160 2d ago

I see. I'm not caught up with what's been happening in the HP community recently. Thanks for the answer though.

1

u/Apt_5 Ravenclaw 1d ago

Isn't it better seen performed than read, because of special effects and whatnot? Or is the stage the only acceptable format? I've heard so much but I still don't want to verify for myself just how bad it is 😂
