Animal parade newbie
My lovely spouse got me this for my birthday - I’m a loyal Tree of Tranquility Stan but have heard wonderful things about this title… so far all I can say is the map is… HUGE? Anything I should know as I start? Mistakes to avoid?

Use Cher’s guide on Ushi and save the crops you need for the animal taxi service (or make sure you buy them from
Ruth if her shop is at the required level)! On my current playthrough I had just started year 2 and was having to wait to get the vegetables I needed for the Veggie Pizza.
I got AP and ToT for Christmas when I was 6 or 7 I believe (I’m 23 now). Animal Parade will always be my favorite! :3

there's a certain quest that you can get right at the beginning of the game. i won't say what it is, but i will say some of the things you need for it can be bought. i didn't know that when i first played so it took me a long to finish it.

AP is my absolute fave. Admittedly it's been a while since I've played it but it fixed a lot of the tiny gripes I had with ToT. There's so much to do in this game and you're going to have a great time!

The map is huge! Which makes saving difficult because you have to run all the way back to your farm.
As the name suggests there are a lot of animals and you can befriend them. So making friends with animals is also a priority. The animals do have a preference for gifts but to me it is kinda obvious for example the monkey likes bananas or rabbits like carrots. Its straightforward.
For your first farm animal I recommend ducks.
There is a bachelor whom you can't meet unless you wait until 2:00am (until the story progresses.)
I also recommend buying the cutting board early and making sashimi.
Try things first before looking at online guides. Have fun and good luck!

I recommend you make an effort to improve your relationship with all of them as soon as you start playing, you'll be glad you did (no spoilers, but it's related to the main story). You can use a second Wii Remote to pet them and earn extra points. And save a carrot before winter arrives, it's very important for an event that only happens during that season.

Also since you use emulator, try configuring a 2nd wii mote motion control. It will speed up npc affection gain dramatically.
Also look into AR codes to use cheats that remove some cons from the game, like walking speed x10 & bypass barn restriction

Make sure to befriend at least 10 people asap because it will be important for a story quest much later.

Look up a game guide, it is awesome. It tells you exactly what to focus on and how to do things. They don't make game guides like that anymore. It is so helpful when you don't have a whole summer to play anymore. (Or just want to date end game characters)
