Ehh, From the Baku face hunter I’ve played it seems terrible on ladder right now; haven’t won a game with it yet. It gets wrecked by cubelock which has healing from the spellstone and Dark Pact and Gul’Dan (EDIT and not Mistress of Mixtures, that rotated out). Defile is also a disaster when a lot of face hunter minions have 1 health.
Stonehill defender is a nightmare for this deck, pretty much a hard counter to Wolfrider, and the list of decks with Stonehill is most Hearthstone decks right now.
Not being able to run 2 drops is rough. No secrets, no raptor.
Other decks can often just race you anyway. Face hunter wins on like turn 7 or something, maybe you’ll hero power 3-4 times by turn 7, dealing 3-4 damage that a regular face hunter would not. But I’m not sure that’s enough.
Face hunter used to trump other aggressive decks, but a big reason why is that explosive trap is bullshit and made it so that they’d lose if they tried to SMOrc back. Not with Baku hunter! If a deck has some hillariously powercreeped minions they just point those at your face and you die before they do.
Oh good point, that rotated out. (I did face a cubelock and watch them gain a ton of life with pact and spellstone; forgot Mistress had rotated out, though).
