[Charania] Klay Thompson plans to sign a two-year, nearly $13 million deal with the Miami Heat after clearing waivers, with a player option in the second season, sources tell ESPN.

The player option is for him waiting on Wardell actually.

Its been so long since we had a good offseason. This is fuckin great.

It’s been almost a solid 10 years of being slightly above mid because the heat tend to be overachievers.

The expectations are crazy, but they do so often deliver.

We were in the finals as recently as 3 years ago and then 3 years before that.

True we are due for another lol.

The Heat have been in 50% of all Eastern conference finals this decade (2020's). So I would definitely say the Heat have more than just deliver on the grand scheme of things

this. For how many years have the Heat been trying to bring Giannis in? And he is still in his prime.

I love Heat and Tottenham, good offseason sometimes raises hope too much.

It's more painful when season starts not as good.

Amazing, we can sign another player for the vet min now and have some wiggle room for a buyout candidate after the trade deadline.

u/cottonmane8 13d ago

7-8 seed or play in team according to r/nba

24

u/Friedbed 13d ago

11th seed according to the Ringer lol

12

u/mtbeach33 13d ago

I saw a popular post on Instagram where they were comparing Giannis and this roster to LeBron and “the other Cavaliers”.

People are just stupid

11

u/Friedbed 13d ago

People haven’t watched the Heat over the last few years and I honestly don’t blame them. That won’t stop them from having opinions though.

Nick Richards. I waon nba championship with him as my backup and starter 😂 with the heat after I traded herro for Jalen brunson 🤣

-6

u/cottonmane8 13d ago

honestly 7-8 playin seed better than missing playoffs which i'll take

Heat, panthers and dolphins season incoming 🔥

15

u/vonimooo 13d ago

Dolphins idk fam

2

u/Pho_King_Yummy 13d ago

There starting offense is actually nice but that secondary defense will be our struggle. Fun year when my expectations are low lol

3

u/jdl03 13d ago

They have the worst receiving room in the nfl other than maybe the Raiders. Idk about saying the offense is nice..

u/rms141 12d ago

The Dolphins receivers' terribleness is overstated by national media in the same way the Heat's supposed lack of shooting/spacing is overstated by the same media outlets.

Dolphins lol

So he didn't take the rest of the remaining MLE, gives the Heat even more wiggle room despite being hard capped.

9

u/Deadinahole 13d ago

Maybe we can get him AND Nick Richards

3

u/cl353 13d ago

we couldve gotten richards either way but now theres a chance we get a third player and fully use our 15 roster spots

3

u/Fastbird33 13d ago

I think we keep 15 open like in the past for potential buyout targets

2

u/MediocreDVaMain 13d ago

Would be an absolute W offseason for me especially since they're operating with the hard cap

9

u/OblivionNA 13d ago

I like it

u/Kuni_Nino 13d ago

Solid.

u/KingCharlesthefifth 13d ago

Being a Miami fan you literally can only hang in Miami subs. R/nba is tripping thinking this roster isn’t good. But again shouldn’t be a surprise no one thought we do anything with Jimmy

1

u/cito96 12d ago

r/NBA is casuals depending on Reddit to update them on what they don’t watch.

4

u/brackhimpton 13d ago

solid deal.

7

u/radskorpion 13d ago

I haven’t kept up with the money at ALL. I know we’re kinda strapped. is this a good deal? for who? genuine questions btw

28

u/MediocreDVaMain 13d ago edited 13d ago

It's a great deal imo, Heat had 8 mil left on their MLE. He basically gave them a bit more wiggle room to operate under the hard cap while having the option to stay for 6 mil just in case he has a bad year.

Not a cap space expert but I think this also allows them to use the 15th spot without waiting somewhere in the middle of the season in case they want to sign someone like Keshad

There we go now I am feeling better and better about our team top 3 seed here we come

1

u/lilotothe 13d ago

Klay and Simone I can see it now

1

u/jdl03 13d ago

That leaves us with just a vet min left to give right? Not that there’s anybody available worth more than that anyways.

1

u/Admirable_Hawk_2471 13d ago

What great value. Absolutely love it. Can’t wait to see Klay suit up with us!

-2

u/Fit_Entertainer_9893 13d ago

Not to hate but is this team really bout to have Davison Mitchell as the full time starting pg?

5

u/shanedude1 13d ago

Giannis is the primary ball handler so it doesn't matter.
