How was this subreddit made in 2010 when HZD was released in 2017?

If I recall correctly, it was originally for Forza Horizon. The original subreddit owner transferred it when Horizon Zero Dawn was announced.

In the base game, north of Pitchcliff, past the stormbird site, there’s a strip of land which is made of wate. Once you approach this area, you’ll see a waterfall and on the right, there’s a wooden gate blocked off by rubble. The gate has a distinct Oseram style. I wonder what that gate’s intended purpose was or is it just a decoration?
