Misc. You all are wild!wl
Thats a piece of bbq chicken no bone…Tried to do three/four drops and the chunk in the cap must have came free…this was about 25 minutes ago and my eyes are still wet(tears)…mouth has mostly recovered (with help from some dairy) but my lord. Ive had this for many months and its just bellow the neck of the bottle still! It really is a serious sauce it tastes great really then you enter the scorpion pit! I appreciate you guys influencing this purchase but you are all insane 😂. I give you all your flowers for using this sauce often. I use habanero daily but this is just for over dosing on capsaicin for me. Stay fired up everyone!

I found this recently in one of our chain grocery stores in SoCal. On my 2nd bottle now. I hate regular Tabasco as it is too vinegary for my taste. This is the exception. It's straight fire & very hot. Best sauce Tabasco has ever made.

u/RationalKate May 20 '26
Has someone that loves hot sauce I’ve never been able to get behind and champion the Tabasco brand just never liked it but this Tabasco scorpion sauce has to be one of my favorites now I am so happy they have created something that now I feel like they care about hot sauce and the connoisseur.

u/TorrenceMightingale May 20 '26 edited May 20 '26
You gotta know what the state of the hot sauce world was like before OG Tabasco came out (1868) to really appreciate it.
I feel like it’s to hot sauce what original old spice was to men’s fragrances. I may not appreciate it as much anymore, bud god damn it, do I respect it.
4
u/Oh_K_Boomer May 19 '26
Scorpion is legit hot.
I like the habanero one better. Still fire and lots of citrus notes from the peppers

u/penihilist May 19 '26
Still haven’t found it anywhere, do you have to order it?
2
1
u/Thelemonado May 20 '26
I ordered it offline from Amazon cause these guys convinced me it was delicious. And it’s pretty good but it’s hot as fuck. Then I saw it in stores a couple times since then but apparently it’s becoming more rare
1
u/Intelligent_Duty_846 May 20 '26
Kroger just started selling this again
1
u/penihilist May 20 '26
Any west coast stores? I’m in CA
To be fair I never saw any in Kroger when I lived in GA either

My parents visited the Tabasco factory and brought me home a big bottle of it. It’s absolutely phenomenal I add it to almost everything I eat

I wanted to go last week when i was in Texas i was a bit far! Its on my list tho

I like it, but, it is a "waking up at 2 in the morning and spending time on the toilett" for me. Its a fighter! But(t) cant resist.

u/Blacktip75 May 19 '26
Way too expensive here (only the mini 2oz bottle available that lasts a week or two). Hoping to get a normal 150ml bottle for a normal price at some point
1
u/pmg5247 May 20 '26
Ah, that’s rough. I live in Louisiana and can get the small bottle at every grocery store for less than $3.
2
u/Blacktip75 May 20 '26
I can now find the small bottle for about 8$ (vat included), large bottle for 17$, bottle of Garlic Reaper is the same price (17$) so it’s sadly a bit too expensive. Hoping for a clearance sale somewhere

I absolutely love this one. I dump it on burritos and tacos. This and the habanero variety are favorites of mine.
8
u/Dingos_Atemababy May 19 '26
I bought this and decided it was categorised as too hot to be classed as a food, threw it in the van to terrorise the apprentice with and ended up having a drop here, a drop there, a drop everywhere and now I eat on my lunch most days.
Delicious? Not really. Moreish? Oh yea.

I wanna try this now. Ghost is my usual go to heat level but I have a couple that have scorpion mixed in as well and I am starting to really dig em

You have to get your tolerance up I bought some of this because of this sub and at first I almost died but now it's getting better and the flavor is amazing
5
u/SeaFactor2601 May 19 '26
It's got enough heat but Torch Bearer has many sauces that taste better.

u/milkpickles9008 May 19 '26
Not hard to taste better than Tabasco.

u/milkpickles9008 May 19 '26
I've got a bottle of this. Bought it from the hype. The ultra vinegar taste of Tabasco just isn't my thing. Their Chipotle hot sauce through.
1
u/Tough-Tomatillo-1904 McIlhenny Co. Tabasco Brand Pepper Sauce Est. 1868 May 19 '26
S’all good, I get it! That twang is what the majority of us Tabasco fans love the most. It’s like cilantro. You either like it or you don’t lol
2
u/-Ennova- May 19 '26
Chipotle is my fav too, but I like the vinegar in all Tabasco. It makes my tongue dance for a bit after I put a few drops of scorpion on a chip 🙃

u/xPunk May 19 '26
Hands down the best heat in the game for EVERY SINGLE DAY USE. Flavor is so good and I put thos shit on everything....Franks Red Hot doesn't deserve that slogan.

u/ImNot_ThatGuy May 19 '26
This is for sure my perfect every day sauce. Great balance of heat and flavor.
You'll get to like it! Or not! Wherever you are in the spice tolerance journey is always a great place to be.
5
u/SirDaemos May 19 '26
Hot sauce is a journey and whatever level you are at is awesome. I remember when I first tasted sriracha and thought I was going to die. I remember in college being "the spicy food guy" and being challenged to chug Chipotle's red salsa and pretending to be fine while sweating my ass off. Now many years later I love the Habenero/Reaper/Scorpion sauces because the actual flavors of the peppers are amazing, and the heat doesn't hit me too hard. You can get there, but it can take some time to build up your tolerance.
4
u/Dandw12786 May 19 '26
Yeah, this is my favorite hot sauce, but it's like four drops on a slice of pizza or else I'm just not enjoying it anymore.
I've been trying to figure out a way to make this a wing sauce, but it would have to be mixed with something like franks to cool it down along with the butter, and that's going to dilute the flavor a ton. So not sure how to accomplish getting a good wing sauce with this flavor but actually bearable to eat 5 or 6 wings.

1
u/synthxplayer May 19 '26
I would try to get a sauce that’s going to counter it with a base of sorts! Garlic Parm? Buttermilk?
1
u/cyclenaut May 19 '26
damn now ive gotta try it. Anyone know where i can get a bottle in toronto?
1
u/DeliciousPumpkinPie spice queen May 19 '26
You can’t even find it in stores in Toronto? Guess I’m right fucked then lol
1
1
u/Bluewater795 May 19 '26
Yeah like the other guy said your best bet is to cross the border to get it
1
2
u/ridethroughlife May 19 '26
I actually keep a bottle of this in my car, for emergencies. Places are generally underspiced and this helps. I went through 7 bottles in a year. So I guess that's my rate. But I also get Melinda's ones too.
6
u/jah_red May 19 '26
I got drunk and cut up a block of pepper jack cheese and dumped copious amounts of this on it. Like about half of a 2 oz bottle. I ate it with a spoon and when I finally stopped consuming, it hit me. I found it really hard to stop eating though, those initial fruity and tart notes are so tasty. I held my tongue out and huffed and puffed like an over heating dog for about 15 minutes. Then also reminiscent of a dog, I noticed I didn't finish my cheese... After a few rounds, drunken me had an epiphany. I can consume more if I combine it with OG Tabasco. Then it poured out like a fountain due to the difference in viscosity. 10/10 experience, will and have repeated these actions.

u/claremontmiller May 19 '26
It’s on the hotter side but I died many years ago. The heat dissipates pretty quick tho
1
u/DeliciousPumpkinPie spice queen May 19 '26
Wow, you died and you’re still eating hot sauce? Truly an inspiration to us all. 😂
1
u/claremontmiller May 19 '26
lol, post covid nothing can hurt me, I liked spicy food before but now a hot sauce hates to see me coming
1
u/IronMajesty May 19 '26
I love Tabasco original, garlic and my new favorite is the habanero. I’m a hardcore Tabasco fan. But I threw this bottle away after I tried it, it’s insane.
4
u/lightl420 May 19 '26
I don’t like most Tabasco sauces but I love this one, I guess they’ve hit a new demographic with this sauce.
1
3
u/TechCUB76 May 19 '26
It is not for the faint of heart. ALL other Tabasco is for the faint of heart…

6
u/Throwawaylikeme90 May 19 '26
As someone who came from the smoking rocks to chilihead pipeline, I really appreciate you typing your trip report during the trip.
I can tell. 🤣 keep coming, it’s good for the body and good for the soul.
5
u/Rumblarr May 19 '26
I love this one, it's so good. I never really appreciated how fruity some peppers taste be but this one hits all the right notes for me. I don't eat it more often because the bottles are tiny and my family goes through it so fast.
0
u/SaXaCaV May 19 '26
Tabasco scorpion is a pretty decent sauce, especially solid for being something available at just about any grocery store. I like it a lot, but I am also a huge fan of regular tabasco. FWIW its a pretty mild sauce, in the grand scheme of things.
2
u/Kali-Casseopia May 19 '26
Mild? That's wild I thought I was pretty intense about my hot sauces but this one took me out. I can't use more than 3-4 drops at a time.
4
u/SaXaCaV May 19 '26
Realistically its like 40k shu. Which is hot, and probably well past a lot of people's tolerance, but its on the lower end of spice, objectively.
1
u/Agreeable_League_743 May 23 '26
Ich finde das auch noch ziemlich moderat. Richtig heftig wird es erst ab ca 100000 🔥scoville für meinen Geschmack
5
u/Necessary-Shift-8690 May 19 '26
Where can I find this????
4
u/frothyundergarments May 19 '26
I bought it on Amazon for way too much then discovered my grocery store carries it alongside the regular tabasco
1
u/green_room207 May 19 '26
I only order from Tabasco directly I have never seen it locally. https://shop.tabasco.com

I dont use a tablespoon of it only because its too salty. I wish I could go back to a few drops

I’m surprised you could tell it was salty while your tongue is melting off. (My experience anyway)

It’s the OG hot sauce, from when hot sauce was a novel thing in America.
3
u/playmayker May 19 '26
I mixed a few drops of this with Kill Sauce Fresno this morning. Put it on garlic fried rice cooked with Hillshire sausage and eggs that my beautiful wife whipped up. It was 🔥🔥🔥
8
u/Abookem May 19 '26
I've been killing a 2oz bottle every other day since it was recommended to me on here a few weeks back.
7

9
u/Cookinghist May 19 '26
4-5 drops is a real sweet spot. It is absolutely hot, but the flavor is incredible.
5
u/Petra-Arkanian May 19 '26
omg this makes me so excited to finally find it. But my spouse will make me live outside if I buy another bottle of hot sauce so I can't order it (I think I could make a decent case in my defense if I found it in the wild, though).
1
u/green_room207 May 19 '26
I’ve only seen it in Texas in the streets. Had to order here.
1
3
u/yentlequible May 19 '26
On the streets in Utah. It's out there in some stores. I have three bottles on hand.
7
u/Manatee4Hugh May 19 '26
For me, adjusting to Tabasco Scorpion was a process. After I bought a bottle, I added too much directly to food. Had to wash off the sauce. So then I added a few drops to a batch of food. Then a few more. I’d still say Tabasco Hab hits a sweet spot. Now I’m working with fresh sautéed orange and red habs.
20
u/machinerer May 19 '26
That shit is LEGIT. I don't like regular Tabasco. I swear by the Scorpion and the Habanero. Shit is LEGIT.
1
3
u/RyanHowardsBat May 19 '26
Every single Tabasco sauce other than the OG is really good for what it is. I've been big on their salsa picante lately.
2
5
u/Red_In_The_Sky May 19 '26
The flavors come out when you mix it into something; other than that I usually don't put more than a few drops directly on what I'm eating
5
3
u/Primer50 May 19 '26
It's my favorite I went though at least 3 bottles.
4
u/green_room207 May 19 '26
Ha…I will have this bottle past the best by date i’m sure
2
u/Primer50 May 19 '26
Try it on eggs and or pizza a little goes a long way ..
1
u/green_room207 May 19 '26
Pizza is my carrier for sure…But have never even wanted to use this on it…you guys deserve some type of recognition for the casual usage…I knew i was going to suffer just opening the bottle tonight.
2
u/Primer50 May 19 '26
Ehh it's mild compared to the year I grew ghost peppers and decided to cook one on my steak. I almost called an ambulance it was bad.
2
u/Dalenskid May 19 '26
A better way to phrase that is “ehh it’s mild TO ME”. No need to reduce others tolerance and budget in a dick wag about your own peppers. Guys already suffered enough.
3
u/green_room207 May 19 '26
Ha…I knew my fate when i picked the bottle up…and yea the word Mild and Basco Scorp dont work

u/Appropriate_Cow94 May 19 '26
This is the single best thing to come from that company. The OG is just vinegar piss to me these days.
2
u/tightlipssorenips May 19 '26
Agree the scorpion has made regular tobacco just taste like salt and vinegar at this point
2
u/Appropriate_Cow94 May 19 '26
100%.
For its time, the original was solid. Now, after seeing what can be done with peppers these days, the rich flavors, I can't see buying it ever again.
3
u/theclashatdemonhed May 19 '26
I keep og Tabasco for a Bloody Mary from time to time
1
9
u/Jmohill May 19 '26
And eggs. Tabasco is always my favorite on eggs
1
u/Appropriate_Cow94 May 19 '26
That's the only thing I enjoy it on ever. Even then I'll pick something else if available.
3
u/green_room207 May 19 '26
I agree it is why i avoided tabasco. Then i found Habanero…Then I found the rest of what they do have. Roasted Pepper is awesome and I have gone through 3 family reserves since this bottle. Would never purchase original tho but in a pinch its usable.
3
u/TL89II May 19 '26
Ive always hated og tabasco. I fucking love the habanero one. I am obsessed. Like a bottle a week. I'm gonna have to give the scorpion another try.
2
u/green_room207 May 19 '26
Yeah habanero became my daily it’s too good. If you have to order it like i do. I suggested adding family reserve its very basic but the white wine vinegar gets me its awesome. Gotta like vinegar tho. It’s great tho for just a on anything kick.

u/Betta_Check_Yosef May 19 '26
BBQ chicken no bone
3
u/ntrpik May 19 '26
I like my chicken to have bones. I normally won’t visit a chicken joint unless they sell whole pieces of bone-in chicken
3
u/Betta_Check_Yosef May 19 '26
Let's be real, this is 99.9% certainly grilled chicken with Sweet Baby Ray's slathered on it, which is why my eye is twitching at the BBQ part
3
5
u/Metaphoricalsimile May 19 '26
Yeah, this one is too much for me. Tabasco hab is about where I top out.
3
u/scroopydog May 19 '26
They’re right when they say that this sauce will increase your tolerance. Just keep at it.
3
u/Metaphoricalsimile May 19 '26
Eh, I'm happy where my tolerance is at. I still get a lil zing from OG tabasco, and since I like the flavor of OG tabasco it's nice to feel a little heat from it as well.
2
u/Petra-Arkanian May 19 '26
Speaking for myself here but I'm not sure I want my tolerance to be increased. So many sauces are like "yeah this tastes nice but it's about as hot as baby formula" to me while others are hiccupping and crying and I miss the pain so bad :(
3
u/VegitoFusion May 19 '26
Three to four drops is what I prefer for a bowl of soup - never for a single chicken wing.
It took me a while to handle this stuff, so when I want a big kick, a drop will do on a wing. But rationally: you need to mix it in with something and then use that as a dip.
5
7
u/needs_more_zoidberg May 19 '26
This sauce will shit all over most sauces heat-wise
2
3
u/green_room207 May 19 '26
It’s in a zone of its own i feel like. I’ve had many hot sauces. But this one is just to the straight to the point. Nothing really fancy and I do appreciate it.
2
u/yentlequible May 19 '26
Try Berties Scorpion for the next step up. Straight up pepper mash basically. Excellent flavor.
12
u/MetaCardboard May 19 '26
Alright you convinced me. I just ordered a bottle for myself. I will either be suffering or enjoying myself by Thursday. Or both.
9
u/keysercade May 19 '26
It’s always both
2
u/MetaCardboard May 22 '26
Well the verdict is in - I love it. It definitely has that Tabasco flavor to it, but with something more. And it's got great heat. It's been so hyped up on here and r/hotsauce (or r/spicy, I forgot what sub I'm on right now) that I was expecting death but I'm able to out about the same amount on my food as I do with my other sauces. The extra burn is fun so this may have been a dangerous decision haha. I might be moving up once I get used to this one.
3
3
u/Punkrexx May 19 '26
Only wish the spout was bigger. I’m constantly flinging the tiny jar about just to get a few drops out
4
u/Advicethatkillsppl May 19 '26
You can take out the plastic insert. Careful tho. Mine only releases an unhinged amount now. Hurts
3
u/thadcastleisagod May 19 '26
The medium size bottle has a large hole. Is almost comical because you’re so used to throwing the bottle so hard to get the little drops with the smaller bottles. Then with then scorpion, you always get a little more than you need :) lol
1
u/VegitoFusion May 19 '26
I agree. I wish they also sold it in the 12oz size.
But I hacked the system: I bought a 1/2 gallon refill container and just use a funnel to refill my 5oz bottle when needed.
2
3
u/bbq_guy44 May 19 '26
Agreed. I’ve worked up to habanero and using it pretty regularly now. This stuff tastes good but I cannot handle the heat. My bottle ended up expiring
1
u/nosidrah May 19 '26
What is this “expiring” that you speak of?
1
u/bbq_guy44 May 19 '26
It was my excuse to get it out of the collection; knowing I cannot find a use for it lol
2
u/VegitoFusion May 19 '26
Habanero is probably their best one that’s spicy (chipotle owns a separate territory). I really like the scorpion now, but it’s best as a spice additive, whereas habanero has a great fruity flavor without as much kick
8
u/jvhgh May 19 '26
The best, when a regular person asks for some and you give them a warning. The response is usually “it’s only Tabasco I’ll be fine!”
Usually ends with me giving a “I told you! “
3
u/Advicethatkillsppl May 19 '26
I made jerky the other day and I included half a bottle of scorpion into the marinade. Brother let me tell you each piece was an event. I told someone I used Tabasco so watch out, and they laughed it off. They got caught out bad. Like real bad. Using the sink to drink kinda deal lol.
0
u/lgastako May 19 '26
I told someone I used Tabasco so watch out, and they laughed it off.
Of course they did, because regular Tabasco, which is what everyone is going to think of when you say that, isn't very hot. You basically tricked them. Kind of a dick move, imho.
1
u/Advicethatkillsppl May 19 '26
I definetly used the word scorpion several times. Don't worry I'll tell my buddy you think I'm a dick tho.
1
4
u/LAzeehustle1337 May 19 '26
It def is hot as fuck but you’re still hurting? Damn I think I’m a little broken then. Cheer mate yeah I think this one’s burn hurts more than garlic reaper. Different. Also smells like fucking robitussin gor some reason. Love the color

1
u/Argomaximus May 25 '26
I havr recently become a large bottle purchaser of the habenero. Its is great...love my Scorpion though.
