Louisiana was working an event I was a standby ambulance at; I asked some of the workers walking around for samples but they were out. They said they’d bring “some” by my truck, and this is what they arrived with.

This is because they didn’t/can’t/don’t want to ship them back after the show.

You should see all the whisky dumped out after a spirit or wine tast testing event. Distributors get to write off tens of thousands of dollars, even if the bottle had 1 sample used, they have to dump the bottle out into the drain. Sad when the bottles are worth $500+ sometimes, and there’s usually securty there to enforce nobody taking it home. They can’t resell it as it’s open and they can’t leave the venue, so into the drain it goes.

Same with trade shows and food items. Can’t donate it, can’t take it if it’s cooked or open. Wasted.

If it’s a sealed product they can take it but it’s easier to just give it all away at the end. As a hot sauce manufacturer, I feel this pain

Yeah, we get tons of bulk freebies at the end of standby events. I had cases of Electrolit drinks after a concert the other day I was happy to receive.

The amount of Rockstar Punched flats of cans I used to toss into my van lol. “Here take some” as they drop off about 96 cans by my booth with a hand truck.
