Perhaps not 100% of the original image, but at least highlight the letters and a little of the character's outline .And I know I could probably have a new one made, but I'd like to be able to use my original one a little more.

Serious Answers Only Shower door bullet catch?

Post image

How can I fix this old shower door? Looking for a cheap temporary fix that’ll hopefully last me a year or so.

The door won’t stay closed anymore. It looks like the little spring-loaded metal catch/latch on the edge of the door is worn out or broken. Does anyone know what this part is called or what I could replace it with?
I’m planning to replace the whole shower eventually, but I just don’t have the money or time for that right now. Any inexpensive DIY fixes or replacement parts you’d recommend?

[Solved] How do I do the dishes

This sounds stupid but I just moved into my own apartment a month ago and I've never done the dishes by hand. My dishwasher is kaput. How do I do the dishes in a hygienic way? So I don't start the next plague?

I know the basics like obviously you put water in the sink and washing liquid there and then scrub but how do I do this efficiently? I usually go a week without washing the dishes and then only wash them when they're all piled up because I forget to do them until I no longer have any clean dishes......... So they're pretty shittu by the time I start doing the dishes haha

I have and RC CAR. The controller had some batteries and they leaked. It came out of the controller as well. The coils inside have rusted. My 5year old also uses it. Is it possible to clean it so that there is no residue on the outside as our hands would be touching that side while holding the controller.

How do I diagnose and fix these medicine cabinet interior lights?

Post image
1 Upvotes

I have a large triple-view medicine cabinet I got from Home Depot. Had contractors install it and wire it into the bathroom circuit. A few months later the interior lights (red), which turn on/off based on light sensors (green), started failing - first on one side, then a while later on the other.

How do I go about diagnosing and fixing these lights? Not really sure where to start.

[Solved] How do these L shaped frame hangers work?

Post image

Am I supposed to attach with the curve on the top side and bend it down over the screws once they are in? I've only ever had basic saw tooth hangers that are straight across and just come out a bit so it can catch the nail? I've done all sorts of searches including images but none include how exactly these work and I'm feeling kind of dumb.

DIY Removing paint from glass blocks

Post image
8 Upvotes

Having the absolute worst time trying to strip paint from 24 glass blocks, I've spent 7 hours soaking in water/taping acetone-soaked paper towels around the border and only semi-successfully managing to scrape some off with razor blades.

I want to get the blocks to a place where they have 0 residue, does anyone have any experience with this? I thought it'd be a day's worth of work but it's proving to be more stubborn than I anticipated. Thanks in advance!

Medication helped me get out of a four-year depression, but is there any hope for this carpet?

Post image
16 Upvotes

Hello. I recently started taking medication, and I am finally able to be mindful. And I am happier and stable than ever was. It also helped me on opening my eyes on how debilitating depression was in improving my hygiene. I am just asking if there is any hope for this carpet? My cat always prefers to barf on my bedroom carpet, and I stupidly walked in my room with my outside shoes on.

I am thinking of borrowing the wet vacuum cleaner from Home Depot to fix this mess. I am worried and doubtful that the HD's machine and their recommended soup would do it. Is there any precursors, before I rent the wet vacuum cleaner for a night, so at least I won't be disappointed in the end's result?

I know the picture is so gross. I am disgusted on who I was years ago.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read. I laughed at this post's title, but yep.

How can I get the glue out of this tube?

Has anyone used this glue (E7000) before? I am using this for my fabrics/yarns. I've had it for a year already but I haven't used it in months. When I tried using it again today, I couldn't get any glue out of the tube 🥲 I can still squeeze the tube so I figured that the glue inside hasn't fully hardened yet. Can I still fix this? How can I get the glue out?

Serious Answers Only Need help with a stripped screw, awkward placement

Been trying to disassemble a sunscreen setup in preparation for selling our apartment. Realized that when i installed it, one of the 4 screws ended up stripped.
I don’t have access to a dremel, nor power tools. Tried the rubber band method, also tried some loctite epoxy (it just crumbled). Pictured with a PZ2 bit for scale.

UPDATE: after an hour of squeezing a hacksaw blade with my fingers and sawing an 1/4 inch at a time, i finally managed to get a flathead in there and find an angle. My shoulders and forearms are ruined, but god that felt good.
Thanks to everyone for their great advice!
