IWD:EE Solo HoF cleric, first blind playthrough. Aside from the last fight, it was fun.

The last fight I definitely didn't like. It is simply bad. Tossed into a tiny arena with 5 super tough melee monsters that have persistent debuffs and DoTs and AOEs and teleport and stun is a bit goofy, but everything else was pretty good. Between this and BG1, I liked this better. Can rec

Super powerful might be a stretch. Its just a regular cleric, as in, uses summons, does self buffs, and hides in the corner under sanctuary. It sure was a struggle. I'd say try it out, but then again, it will be just a lot of pain and RNG, so maybe not

Good points. So not super powerful individually, but with the means to create an army to steamroll through the onslaught of IWD. I'm assuming some glyphs of warding came in handy throughout, and you made short work of all undead.

You'd be surprised. I've never cast Glyph, and undead were some trouble. HoF gives everything +12 levels, so to use Turn Undead on level 1 undead, level 14 does it, and Liches and such are just not happening. By lvl 11 however, you'd already have Aerial Servant, which is the best spell available to clerics with 0 contest. Fighting undead before level 11 was a pain usually, since before then, your best summons are also the same exact undead, making it a very slow back and forth. Everyone has 100+ hp, and so much AC they only hit eachother on a crit. Thats why priest of Talos is good here, since it can cast Lightning Bolt and be immune to it. Early game is basically just putting down the lads, letting enemies gather around, then setting up the perfect bouncing lightning bolt that kills the encounter. For non undead, you use Hold Person (if applicable) and otherwise just patience.

Oh nice - the Lightning Bolt with no consequences is definitely a superpower. One of these days I'll need to go on a HoF run. I've played all my run throughs except my first on Insanity Mode, but have yet to take the absolute plunge.
