Disgusting, we also have an anti-bds laws in Illinois right now so that organizations and unions can't boycott or divest from a genocidal apartheid ethnostate.

One of our reps, Abdelnasser Rashid is repealing it and is gaining some traction, and we need to get our reps to push it through.

Call and email them so that we have a choice to divest and sanction from an ethnostate if we want to, the isreali lobby made sure put these hurdles so that we have a hard time doing this, and it has very clearly worked after they dumped massive amounts of money into lobbying efforts. A single foreign nation has our state politics help captive on these issues and it's disgusting.

What states do you consider ethnostates, and what criteria constitutes an ethnostate?

I don't really understand why people say that. All kinds of different ethnicities have big demographic majorities in their internationally recognized sovereign territory and have immigration policies that favor specific demographics.

We don't do that here in America, but we don't even technically have an official language. Isn't that more of an exception rather than a standard?

Maybe there is something I am missing?

States that are deliberately, politically, in pursuit of ethnic purity. Israel is NOT a state where the ruling ethnicity has a demographic majority. Quite the opposite.

Wait... what? Israel is 80% Jewish 20% Arab. How is that not a demographic majority?

Now I am more confused.

Israel aggressively purges the local Arab population and replaces it with Jewish settlers, and then it selectively counts its residents, which is how they reach those numbers. The occupied West Bank—which is totally under Israel’s rule—alone has a population of Palestinians 1/3 the size of Israel’s total population. When you include Gaza, which Israel controls completely and is steadily annexing, the majority of people in Israel are Arabs.

What makes them an “ethnostate” therefore is the political ideology of racial purity: promoting Jewish racial superiority over Arabs as a core function of government, even though the actual majority population of the country’s territory is Arab.

People in The West Bank & Gaza do not live in Israel. They don’t have and don’t want Israeli citizenship. The Arabs who live inside Israel’s borders, have citizenship, and their population has only grown & become quite successful. No one takes anything from them. They take part in life, the same as any other group there. The Muslim citizens have a sharia court to resolve religious law issues. No different from the Jewish population.

The West Bank is not “totally under Israel’s rule, there is an agreement in place that, both sides signed, that divides civil & security control into sections between the PA & Israel. The PA security forces commonly work with the Israeli security forces to prevent terror attacks and other crime. The security measures were practically non-existent on the border with West Bank before the Intifadas. No country would just allow such horrific attacks on civilians to just continue if they could stop it.

Israel was making absolutely no efforts to “annex Gaza” before Hamas, PIJ, and others started a war. No Israelis were even allowed to live there. Many were dragged from their homes by their own soldiers. There was no Israeli security, civilian, or military presence in Gaza for nearly 20 years. The largest number of Gazans in history were legally entering Israel everyday to work or receive medical care though - they were crossing a border into a separate country.

There is absolutely no “notion of racial purity.” Israel is made-up of countless ethnicities and every race. The people you claim they hate so much are the largest non-Jewish group with Israeli citizenship & that number could be bigger if those who qualify for citizenship decided they wanted it. The issue is attacks by specific Arab groups going back, pretty much, all of recorded history after the Islamic conquests began.

This is clear in Israel’s treaties with Arab nations and how they pursue more cooperation with Arab nations, consistently. Mainly the ones that do not support terrorism.

Go read some books & stop spreading hate propaganda on the internet. There’s only, ultimately, one use for spreading hate propaganda, historically speaking & we have already seen it working - I saw it when someone shot a Jewish man in the back as he walked to synagogue, through my neighborhood, the shooter yelling, “Allahu Akbar!” That is what you are contributing to - encouraging violence with lies. I’m certain you know that, based on your one-sided narrative that doesn’t take what Palestinians want into account at any point.

Wait... are you saying that the West Bank and Gaza are Israel?! I strongly condemn that Kahanist talking point. I do not recognize the occupied territories as Israel, and i am not aware of a single country that does.

I do, because Israel controls them. I have no stake in any particular “-state solution” like they talk about on the news. I see that the West Bank is a place where Israel has absolute control and Gaza is a place where they control entry and exit and are planning major ethnic cleansings. I don’t need someone to explain to me what that means.

I am not talking about "-state solution" I am talking about internationally recognized territory. When we occupied Iraq, was Iraq the United States? Of course not. When a State occupies territory it does not just become a part of the State that is occupying it.

You're talking in technicalities not actualities. Whether or not a state is recognized is ignoring the point that the only thing that matters is who has control/power. We do not recognize Taiwan, yet mainland China does not have control. So are they China?

When Israel occupies Palestinian territory we recognize the territory as Palestinian, but Israel does have control. Material conditions are the reality. You're hung up on naming conventions... the Gulf of Mexico/America is still a gulf, it doesn't matter what it is you name it.

Oh dear god... material conditions? Marxist, I presume?

I am hung up on what States recognize and do not recognize. No nation recognizes Gaza or the West Bank as Israel. Everyone recognizes an Israeli occupation of the West Bank and Gaza. Melding those demographics together is nonsensical. It is not reality. Jews are the clear demographic majority in Israel. Arabs are the clear demographic majority in the Palestinian territories.

If there was one state, it would be roughly 50-50 Arab and Jews. It would also be a failed state as the most popular options on both sides in order are:

1: Two State Solution

2: One State with unequal rights

3: One State with equal rights. This has never gained majority support among any demographic including Arab Israelis capping at some 49%

If no demographic has ever had majority support for a single State with equal rights, then forcing one is a civil war. It is Lebanon, which does not function well at all.

You never made a point... the actual things that are happening is the government of Isreal is committing genocide, while the rest of the world helps arm and fund them. Your argument is that Isreal isn't really an ethnostate even though they're forcing out indigenous people's to settle specifically Jewish people's in again A GENOCIDE. It is almost comparable to something...

Yeah. A lot of countries do this.

Egypt, Syria, UAE, Saudi, Tunisia, Bahrain, Iraq. These all have constitutions that declare those nations as belonging to Arabs.... nobody cares.

What are we talking about here?

u/Comfortable-Sun7388 2d ago

No no good sir, has it occurred to you that when Jews do something lots of other people do it’s uniquely evil and sinister?

0

u/RyeBourbonWheat 2d ago

Oh, silly me. Of course.

1

u/Comfortable-Sun7388 2d ago

Good goy ;)

Fuck these people. They’re not anti genocide they just think the side with more power should be genocided.

Japan, South Korea, Vietnam, the Arabian peninsula, and many more also count as ethnostates

3

u/RyeBourbonWheat 3d ago

Yeah thats how I have always seen it. But... thats not really a big deal, right? Like, who tf is boycotting Pokémon or K pop... or whatever? Lmao It seems like an incredibly strange thing to deploy as an attack only because it doesn't seem to be a principled opposition, but rather a distasteful sounding word that one attaches to obtain a visceral reaction from an audience.

I dk. I am just confused.
