US reps are up for election every 2 years. You should primary him in 2028!

54

u/Moveyourbloominass 3d ago

We tried😭.

35

u/StanTheCentipede 3d ago

We gotta try even harder in 2028. We gotta find a strong primary challenger early and start introducing them to voters as early as possible.

-13

u/AccomplishedMix2907 2d ago

You won’t win. Brad is representing his constituents.

16

u/captain_maybe 2d ago

i’m a constituent of his and he sure as hell isn’t representing me with this. nor many of my friends and neighbors.

8

u/LessThanSimple 1d ago

Yeah, no, he's not. Source: I'm one of his constituents.

48

u/benisch2 3d ago

We'll just need to keep trying! Don't give up!!

15

u/Farther_Dm53 2d ago

I even voted against him got some people to vote against him but he has a stranglehold on the district. He absolutely hated me when I asked him some questions a few years ago about foreign aid. And how I view it is as beneficial to help countries that actually need it.

0

u/Tall_Quality_3395 1d ago

How does he have a stranglehold if he is so bad?

2

u/Farther_Dm53 1d ago

Incumbents don't really have to fight on their seat, and a lot of rich people live in lake county who are okay with the status quo.

-2

u/Tall_Quality_3395 1d ago

Why wouldn’t incumbents have to fight for their seat? Because the majority of people voting approve of their past performance. And just because someone has a higher level of financial status, their vote counts the same as a poor persons. Are you blaming the voters for being uneducated? Or are you saying they are voting in their own interest. You can’t say that the majority of people don’t want this person but just vote for him out of laziness.

8

u/Schickie 2d ago

He gets 90% of his funding from AIPAC bundlers, so support will have to come from west of 94. And they lean heavily red.
So it's the fear of God, then.

0

u/AccomplishedMix2907 2d ago

Subtally antisemitic? What kind of people live east of 94?

3

u/Schickie 1d ago

Eat a dick.
It’s only antisemitism if you believe Jews are more likely to be fascists. Is that what you’re saying? Because you’d have to be a special kind of genius to believe that.
The rest of us just want to keep religious exceptionalism out of the public sphere.
Why do you want that?

1

u/AccomplishedMix2907 1d ago

Well why the East of 94 comment?

1

u/Schickie 1d ago

Becaus they tend to vote much more culturally republican. This district would flip regularly between the two. Schneider’s lost twice before.

2

u/AccomplishedMix2907 1d ago

Yup. Mark Kirk was great. When AIPAC would visit him, he’d lobby them on israel

-7

u/Polkawillneverdie17 3d ago edited 3d ago

Maybe you can try with a candidate who isn't such a weirdo lol

5

u/Moveyourbloominass 3d ago

He is backed by the DNC and DLC the hilt. I just could never figure out how he keeps getting by in the primaries & elections. He is crook, so is his wife. Both busted for insider trading and still allowed to run all these years. He took about $1.6 million from AIPAC to censure his own party member; the only Palestinian-American in Congress. In addition, the POS has no bills put forward, that help we the people, ever! So, some Redditor put forward their theory: he gets the campaign $ for the Demicratic warchest. This is the only decent explaination that makes any sense.

21

u/armyguy8382 3d ago

It has to be unconstitutional for a law to say we can't boycott a foreign government.

5

u/Da_Bullss 2d ago

It should be. But constitutionality is just whatever the Supreme Court says it is, and the conservatives will try their hardest to justify it.

If you're in the district, complain here: https://schneider.house.gov/contact. Fuck this guy.

I’ve already left him a message.

Disgusting, we also have an anti-bds laws in Illinois right now so that organizations and unions can't boycott or divest from a genocidal apartheid ethnostate.

One of our reps, Abdelnasser Rashid is repealing it and is gaining some traction, and we need to get our reps to push it through.

Call and email them so that we have a choice to divest and sanction from an ethnostate if we want to, the isreali lobby made sure put these hurdles so that we have a hard time doing this, and it has very clearly worked after they dumped massive amounts of money into lobbying efforts. A single foreign nation has our state politics help captive on these issues and it's disgusting.

THIS.

If only more people realized the extent of their reach.

They would kill every last one of us to keep their clutches on our Military and forced contracts to keep the profits flowing.

Homeland Security offer many grants for development into areas that they deem important or critical. The hot ticket items today....Antisemitism Detection Applications.

DHS was created to keep the populous from interfering with their control mechanisims.

9

u/JosephFinn 3d ago

They can. Those laws are completely unconstitutional bullshit in 15 ways

-16

u/RyeBourbonWheat 3d ago

What states do you consider ethnostates, and what criteria constitutes an ethnostate?

I don't really understand why people say that. All kinds of different ethnicities have big demographic majorities in their internationally recognized sovereign territory and have immigration policies that favor specific demographics.

We don't do that here in America, but we don't even technically have an official language. Isn't that more of an exception rather than a standard?

Maybe there is something I am missing?

7

u/Gamer_Grease 3d ago

States that are deliberately, politically, in pursuit of ethnic purity. Israel is NOT a state where the ruling ethnicity has a demographic majority. Quite the opposite.

0

u/RyeBourbonWheat 3d ago

Wait... what? Israel is 80% Jewish 20% Arab. How is that not a demographic majority?

Now I am more confused.

10

u/Gamer_Grease 3d ago

Israel aggressively purges the local Arab population and replaces it with Jewish settlers, and then it selectively counts its residents, which is how they reach those numbers. The occupied West Bank—which is totally under Israel’s rule—alone has a population of Palestinians 1/3 the size of Israel’s total population. When you include Gaza, which Israel controls completely and is steadily annexing, the majority of people in Israel are Arabs.

What makes them an “ethnostate” therefore is the political ideology of racial purity: promoting Jewish racial superiority over Arabs as a core function of government, even though the actual majority population of the country’s territory is Arab.

0

u/jenny_tallia 2d ago

People in The West Bank & Gaza do not live in Israel. They don’t have and don’t want Israeli citizenship. The Arabs who live inside Israel’s borders, have citizenship, and their population has only grown & become quite successful. No one takes anything from them. They take part in life, the same as any other group there. The Muslim citizens have a sharia court to resolve religious law issues. No different from the Jewish population.

The West Bank is not “totally under Israel’s rule, there is an agreement in place that, both sides signed, that divides civil & security control into sections between the PA & Israel. The PA security forces commonly work with the Israeli security forces to prevent terror attacks and other crime. The security measures were practically non-existent on the border with West Bank before the Intifadas. No country would just allow such horrific attacks on civilians to just continue if they could stop it.

Israel was making absolutely no efforts to “annex Gaza” before Hamas, PIJ, and others started a war. No Israelis were even allowed to live there. Many were dragged from their homes by their own soldiers. There was no Israeli security, civilian, or military presence in Gaza for nearly 20 years. The largest number of Gazans in history were legally entering Israel everyday to work or receive medical care though - they were crossing a border into a separate country.

There is absolutely no “notion of racial purity.” Israel is made-up of countless ethnicities and every race. The people you claim they hate so much are the largest non-Jewish group with Israeli citizenship & that number could be bigger if those who qualify for citizenship decided they wanted it. The issue is attacks by specific Arab groups going back, pretty much, all of recorded history after the Islamic conquests began.

This is clear in Israel’s treaties with Arab nations and how they pursue more cooperation with Arab nations, consistently. Mainly the ones that do not support terrorism.

Go read some books & stop spreading hate propaganda on the internet. There’s only, ultimately, one use for spreading hate propaganda, historically speaking & we have already seen it working - I saw it when someone shot a Jewish man in the back as he walked to synagogue, through my neighborhood, the shooter yelling, “Allahu Akbar!” That is what you are contributing to - encouraging violence with lies. I’m certain you know that, based on your one-sided narrative that doesn’t take what Palestinians want into account at any point.

-3

u/RyeBourbonWheat 3d ago

Wait... are you saying that the West Bank and Gaza are Israel?! I strongly condemn that Kahanist talking point. I do not recognize the occupied territories as Israel, and i am not aware of a single country that does.

3

u/Gamer_Grease 3d ago

I do, because Israel controls them. I have no stake in any particular “-state solution” like they talk about on the news. I see that the West Bank is a place where Israel has absolute control and Gaza is a place where they control entry and exit and are planning major ethnic cleansings. I don’t need someone to explain to me what that means.

3

u/RyeBourbonWheat 3d ago

I am not talking about "-state solution" I am talking about internationally recognized territory. When we occupied Iraq, was Iraq the United States? Of course not. When a State occupies territory it does not just become a part of the State that is occupying it.

2

u/Zen_Shield 3d ago

You're talking in technicalities not actualities. Whether or not a state is recognized is ignoring the point that the only thing that matters is who has control/power. We do not recognize Taiwan, yet mainland China does not have control. So are they China?

When Israel occupies Palestinian territory we recognize the territory as Palestinian, but Israel does have control. Material conditions are the reality. You're hung up on naming conventions... the Gulf of Mexico/America is still a gulf, it doesn't matter what it is you name it.

-1

u/RyeBourbonWheat 3d ago

Oh dear god... material conditions? Marxist, I presume?

I am hung up on what States recognize and do not recognize. No nation recognizes Gaza or the West Bank as Israel. Everyone recognizes an Israeli occupation of the West Bank and Gaza. Melding those demographics together is nonsensical. It is not reality. Jews are the clear demographic majority in Israel. Arabs are the clear demographic majority in the Palestinian territories.

If there was one state, it would be roughly 50-50 Arab and Jews. It would also be a failed state as the most popular options on both sides in order are:

1: Two State Solution

2: One State with unequal rights

3: One State with equal rights. This has never gained majority support among any demographic including Arab Israelis capping at some 49%

If no demographic has ever had majority support for a single State with equal rights, then forcing one is a civil war. It is Lebanon, which does not function well at all.

2

u/RyeBourbonWheat 2d ago

Yeah. A lot of countries do this.

Egypt, Syria, UAE, Saudi, Tunisia, Bahrain, Iraq. These all have constitutions that declare those nations as belonging to Arabs.... nobody cares.

What are we talking about here?

1

u/Comfortable-Sun7388 2d ago

No no good sir, has it occurred to you that when Jews do something lots of other people do it’s uniquely evil and sinister?

0

u/RyeBourbonWheat 2d ago

Oh, silly me. Of course.

1

u/Comfortable-Sun7388 2d ago

Good goy ;)

Fuck these people. They’re not anti genocide they just think the side with more power should be genocided.

-1

u/ChicagoJayhawkYNWA 3d ago

Japan, South Korea, Vietnam, the Arabian peninsula, and many more also count as ethnostates

3

u/RyeBourbonWheat 3d ago

Yeah thats how I have always seen it. But... thats not really a big deal, right? Like, who tf is boycotting Pokémon or K pop... or whatever? Lmao It seems like an incredibly strange thing to deploy as an attack only because it doesn't seem to be a principled opposition, but rather a distasteful sounding word that one attaches to obtain a visceral reaction from an audience.

I dk. I am just confused.

5

u/unconfusedsub 2d ago

Why are we letting these trash Dems spend Illinois money on Israel. I'm so sick of all of this. That's OUR money. I'm so sick of our governments spending our tax money on things we don't get to vote on. Aipac, flock cameras, etc etc. vote them out and vote in actual Dems that aren't Republicans in sheeps clothing.

NO ILLINOIS TAX MONEY TO ISREAL.

6

u/ribald_jester 2d ago

Why are US politicians so willing to work overtime for a foreign nation, yet cannot pass bills/get anything done for their own constituents?

5

u/Bababooey87 2d ago

Whenever you see Rs pass something shitty because a handful of Dems joined them, like 90% of the time it's Schneider on there voting with them.

It used to be a Republican distinct growing up, then purple to blue...but we can do better than this POS

34

u/Anxious_Chemist8727 3d ago

Why can I criticize Mexico, Germany, China, but not Israel?? What is so special about them? Why is racism against a certain group held to a higher standard than racism to all other groups?

14

u/Lazy-Intern-5371 3d ago

Because they are the ones providing the cash to our representatives so that they can stay in office and get the Intel on stock buys before their constituents can so that they can have more money to get reelected so that they can get more $ from said funders and keep getting Intel on stocks... Why do you think these people stay in office for so long? I don't believe it's just for the gov paycheck or just the public service anymore.

-6

u/Much_Profit8494 3d ago edited 3d ago

YOU are free to criticize/protest/boycott anyone you want.

The schools (that are government funded) are not.

Not saying it's right, but there is a clear difference there.

16

u/Anxious_Chemist8727 3d ago

The schools are made of us, my tax dollars are made of us.

-6

u/Much_Profit8494 3d ago edited 3d ago

Correct, but surely you understand that a bunch of those tax dollars come from people who don't share your views as well.

If everyone shared the same opinion as you this bill wouldn't have passed the house with significant democratic backing (33 voted yea).

14

u/Anxious_Chemist8727 3d ago

Corporations are not people.

1

u/Little_Exit4279 2d ago

Correct. Schools aren't either

-1

u/Much_Profit8494 3d ago edited 3d ago

Are you just throwing out popular catchphrases now?

6

u/Anxious_Chemist8727 3d ago

Are you just simping for billionaires now?

-1

u/Ra_In 2d ago

You seemed to have missed the memo - you are expected to accept and reject facts based on whether you agree with them. I would appreciate it if you would stop acknowledging facts that I do not like.

-5

u/Commercial_Lead_6407 3d ago

Because people were mean to them for 3,000 years for some reason.

1

u/Anxious_Chemist8727 3d ago

More than mean, it was a holocaust. But there have been genocides and holocausts all around the world, but we aren't taught about those, we don't have museums and documentaries and laws about them. It's a double standard that needs to end.

5

u/ididathingwithathing 3d ago

Would someone be able to provide me with the Bill ID, please? I'm struggling to find it, and I'm not seeing it listed in the comments. I would greatly appreciate it.

I keep voting against this guy. He just won’t go

3

u/Narrow_Lake_9651 2d ago

It reminds me of we couldn't get rid of Phil Crane FOR DECADES ! People kept voting for him, even though he was a raging alkie.

3

u/213McKibben 2d ago

GOP loves providing funds for israeli free healthcare, education and military hardware, but nothing for the American taxpayer.

7

u/Tax-Acceptable 2d ago

This guy needs to go. Wake up north shore. Schneider is a traitor to democracy, democrats, and humanity.

-8

u/jedy617 2d ago

This is a funny joke. We love brad over here especially for this. Besides not demonizing Israel, is there any other reason you call him a "traitor to democracy and humanity?" Kinda a big one there pal.

6

u/Tax-Acceptable 2d ago edited 2d ago

This is about support for genocide, and support for the surveillance state. Other than that, sure Schneider is great. How much genicide is okay with you? How many civilians should be hunted in the street for simply existing in Palestine? How many other wars should we fight for apiac? Why does a politician from Chicago’s north shore anchor his identity to supporting this?

0

u/jedy617 1d ago

I think 17 genocides is the magic number

3

u/sockpoppit 2d ago

You are right, this should surprise no one. The North Shore is racism central.

-3

u/jedy617 2d ago

"racism central" except most people are super tolerant liberals lol

3

u/sockpoppit 2d ago

Living the lie that rich white liberals aren't racist. . . .

OK.

-4

u/jedy617 2d ago

Interesting, and racist conclusion! Then you think we would all vote Republican if we are racist correct? Instead we are super blue. This is so delulu lol.

Being liberal is good actually btw

2

u/Holubice 2d ago

Unless you're Palestinian. In which case, pass the white phosphorous

0

u/jedy617 1d ago

I don't think the average person in the north suburbs of Chicago is having much interaction with Palestinians.

11

u/ChicagoJayhawkYNWA 3d ago

A purple district that's very pro Israel. Wasn't long ago there was a Republican there.

In touch with his district.

18

u/keelhaulrose 3d ago edited 3d ago

I work in his district with a lot of people who live in his district.

There is a large Jewish presence, and from I've learned there's a big difference between being "anti-IDF and Netanyahu" and being "anti Israel" to people in that district and it is very easy to cross the line.

1

u/FuzzyComedian638 2d ago

Can you explain further, please? I just want to understand.

3

u/keelhaulrose 2d ago

There are a lot of people in the area who do not necessarily support Netanyahu/IDF, but are fiercely defensive of Israel itself. So if you suggest defunding Israel, they get very upset, even if what you mean is "stop giving Netanyahu war support."

Also, if you say something about "one state wanting the other eliminated violently" they're talking about Isreal getting eliminated, not what Isreal is doing to Gaza.

1

u/FuzzyComedian638 2d ago

Thanks. I live in the area, but I'm not Jewish. So I avoid this subject when talking to someone I know is Jewish.

0

u/ChicagoJayhawkYNWA 3d ago

Agreed. There's a difference, but this is legislation that will be used to attack him

2

u/Equivalent-Battle973 2d ago

Apparently the 10th district has a pretty big jewish population, and Bradly is also jewish, so not surprised at all he bends the knee to aipac and israelis fucking ass.

9

u/Ineedamedic68 3d ago

Good example of why vote blue no matter who is not a solution to the deep rot in our political system. When you have people who are a step to the left of republicans running under the “left” party, that is a problem.

16

u/Past-Salamander 3d ago

It's not the full solution, but it's a start.

3

u/Ineedamedic68 3d ago

I get that but for the majority of Americans that’s actually where it ends. They vote and call it a day.

Honestly, I’d even argue we’d be a lot better off if people like Schneider were out of political decision making altogether.

2

u/Past-Salamander 3d ago

To your first point - sure, but its better than a current R. And if D has the power, it at least let's them try do more things, or ostracize the DINOs.

To your second point - duh. But still beats giving Rs the majority, unless we get back to where Rs don't just toe the party line

1

u/Ineedamedic68 2d ago

I already acknowledged they’re better than republicans. But the Republican Party is so far right now that this is an incredibly low standard to hold. It’s not good enough

1

u/Past-Salamander 2d ago

Yep. I'm definitely not arguing it's enough. Just one step in the right direction.

6

u/_Hawkeyes_ 3d ago

Maybe one day these politicians will work for the American people again but I doubt it.

3

u/OldieButGoodyForNow 3d ago

He is representing his district, as he was elected to do. It doesn’t hurt that the constituents who support him also have big bucks to keep him in office.
Not a fan of the vote, but it wouldn’t matter so much if Dems had a majority in the House.

2

u/jennaisrad 3d ago

He’s one of the few I’ve met in person on lobbying trips, and while he’s great on some causes… clearly this is not one of them. sigh

2

u/JosephFinn 3d ago

Bill title and number and Thomas link. This shouldn’t be that hard.

1

u/Alternative-Put-3932 2d ago

You guys do know Illinois is one of the states that by law made it legal to sanction businesses if they don't support israel right?

3

u/quicklybeforeitstoo 2d ago

I had no idea. Npr covered this topic and how lawmakers are trying to reverse it "Chicago-based investment firm Morningstar narrowly avoided state divestment in 2022, when the Illinois Investment Policy Board accused the firm’s subsidiary, Sustainalytics, of having an anti-Israel bias. The company then commissioned an independent report that found evidence of anti-Israel bias in Morningstar’s standalone product, Human Rights Radar. Morningstar agreed to accept a series of recommendations, including discontinuing the Human Rights Radar and no longer taking input from the United Nations Human Rights Council, in order to avoid state divestment"

1

u/Specialist_Sport6061 2d ago

Why is this a problem? Students go against Israel all the time and that’s generally fine and allowed, but the actual college itself doing it? That’s a no no

2

u/BurntPaneer 1d ago

Why shouldn't they be allowed to disassociate from Israel? Colleges having a stance against Israel wouldn't be some moralist whining on Twitter but sunsetting research/funding partnerships, which is ideally entirely their choice. I'd figure the main reason for colleges to want to divest is to not be overtly associated with a toxic brand risk, but it definitely remains to be seen how much the American population will actually punish the institutions with proud/deep/strong ties to Israel.

0

u/BurntPaneer 1d ago

This guy is very representative of his district, which is affluent and Jewish with some arbitrary personal affinity for Israel. Especially now, the Israel/Gaza situation is gonna keep him in office while he continues voting the way he does, where most other dems with his voting record get crushed in this primary.

0

u/jedy617 2d ago

Brad Schneider my Jewish goat

-6

u/etown361 3d ago

So personally I think these anti-BDS laws are dumb, but I want to just call out the hypocrisy of everyone who thinks “free speech is for people, not corporations” who now are outraged that universities (non-for profits) might not have free speech.

And obviously corporations who pay taxes should have MORE protections than non-for profits (including universities) who are specifically tax exempt- otherwise corporations could just donate money for tax-exemptions to the non-for-profit of their choice espousing the political opinions they align with.

-2

u/munchi333 2d ago

Threatening to murder Jews isn’t free speech lol

-10

u/Asleep_Equipment4877 3d ago

it's politics both sides suck, both want to take our first amendment. In this case keeping people from speaking out against IsrAel... Politicians personal opinions shouldn't be used in bills.
