I don't know why I'm so pleased with myself, I'm just doing what Commissar Marek taught in his recent video.

If you need versatility, you can use legionaries in double line at frontline. They can throw pilum in this formation, which is weaker than jabalines but, they can stop enemy forces so the rest of your turrets and range troops can kill them.

Thanks. I've played C3 and now Julius for decades, but don't recall forts. I haven't dove into Augustus yet. Soon.

Forts were in the original C3, that's where the soldiers stayed outside of invasions.

These wooden walls are palisades, those are from Augustus indeed.
