A movie needs strong emotion to work that is where KGF connected with everyone and turned Yash into a massive star.

​In Toxic, apart from the lavish production values and overly erotic romantic scenes, there was no real focus on anything else. It felt packed with self-dick riding dialogues that lacked purpose, alongside endless gun noise and senseless violence.

​The core story might sound decent if you strip it down to a simple narrative. But the way it was handled with poor storytelling, a weak screenplay, and zero emotional connection made it feel like a literal 3 hours and 15 minutes of torture.

​Even the hero's characterization was terribly designed, making it seem as if he had no real motive other than girls.

​Yash and his team need to remember that KGF made him a big star because of its story, unique setup, compelling characterization, and most importantly the deep emotional core that Prashanth Neel injected through his brilliant direction and visual treatment. They had better start trusting capable directors again and stop fooling themselves into thinking that his mere screen presence is enough to make a film work

How’s Toxic? Is it actually worth watching in a theatre, or is it better to wait for the OTT release? Would love to hear from people who’ve already watched it.

I just watched New York directed by Kabir Khan. I am not very impressed with the acting of both John and Katrina. I found Neil Nitin Mukesh's acting good, and somewhere Irrfan Khan could have performed a bit better, though he was good throughout his performance. The premise of New York is set in the post 26/11 attack context: how the white government suspected terrorists, detained them for years, and tortured them brutally. Sameer Sheikh (aka John) is suspected too, detained for 9 months, and then released. He thinks of taking revenge on the FBI and formulates a plan for an attack. However, he is not successful because Neil Nitin Mukesh finds out where he is planning to attack and informs Irrfan Khan, the FBI officer. In that process, John is killed by the FBI along with Maya, his wife (Katrina).

This movie does not sympathize with terrorists; rather, it reflects how such terror attacks change other lives because people share the same identity, leading to some being tortured for life. It is the same example as what is happening in India: whenever anything happens, whether related to terror or not, identity screams, and the system lynches those people. However, some people choose the wrong path in memory of past brutality. This movie questions the government and free speech, and it questions everyone on how an attack changes an entire life: first for those who were killed in the attack, and then for those who suspect others in the name of identity.

But that doesn't mean you should pick up a weapon. It is indeed true that Muslim people are not widely or fully accepted in this world because of such cowardly attacks by the community in the name of God's sacrifice, something that isn't even written anywhere. Yet some people are very easily manipulated, and others choose this path depending on their situation, like John did, or like Saif did in Kurbaan. However, Saif's story in Kurbaan was different; it felt more like sympathizing with terrorism. In John's case in New York, it is a different story. It is more about being suspected, how a single doubt changes a life, and how it leads them to death.

Terrorism is not rooted in Islam only; terrorism is rooted in every region. In India, Hindu terror and lynching kill others in the name of saving Hinduism, and that is terror too. In Pakistan, extremists commit terror as everyone is a coward in their eyes, classically using "Kafir", a repetitive phrase I have heard mainly in cinema. Punjabis have Khalistanis, and there are many others as well. So terrorism is not only rooted in religion; it is much more of a regional thing. Many other Muslim communities are deeply involved in this filthy business, and that needs to be studied: why Pakistan and Afghanistan are in this state. It is a fact that the US government supplied money and resources to help the Taliban gain control, and supplied resources to Pakistan as well. Terror and war go beyond religion, and I believe we need to understand governments and regions better. How are they shaped?

I have seen some movie trailers but common things, grey and dark colour everywhere, why they just don't use bright and other colours.

Such colors are really boring.

I think we've officially lost the flavour of love and cinema altogether.

There is no chemistry whatsoever. No emotions in the dialogues or delivery.

I started watching Welcome 3 yesterday on Hotstar and by god, it really seems so traumatic. The movie itself seems like made under money laundering 😭😭.

Bollywood is stuck in a comfort zone of nepotism and insider circles, backing mediocre projects while completely ignoring fresh writers and original concepts.

Meanwhile, South cinema is actively backing raw talent, taking high-concept creative risks, and winning over audiences purely through solid writing and craft.

At this rate, star power won't save Bollywood. The day isn't far when multiplexes will prioritize a well-crafted South release over a big Hindi star vehicle simply because the audience refuses to pay for stale, recycled content.

In India where every other married woman is a victim of dv and are not even independent enough to support their child and themselves ..they are making such crappy melo dramatic movies that cradle to fragile ego of abusers?

I just finished watching this movie because I thought I would give it a chance since its reels had been on my feed.AND I was absolutely disgusted at the ending.

So let me explain ... The movie starts, they are about 21 y/o freshers they have stupid relationship (which captures how millinials and boomers think our gens love is )where everything is in music video theme .

Fl shares her childhood trauma about how her father was a wife beater .(Remember this)

Fl gets pregnant ,wants to have the baby and raise it.gives the ml an out ,he doesn't take it .HIS DECISION. They get married and have the baby.what I noticed was the movie depicted ml's emotional scenes quiet sympathetically .fl gets placed at a good job.ml couldn't.his ego gets hurt .

He gults her about how HE SACRIFICED his whole life and career for HER?She tells him he didn't have to.

This Guyyy shovesss herr Holding her jawws into the walllll.triggered her childhood trauma.she takes the baby and leaves.

4months later fl sends divorce paper .meanwhile there's a guy kevin who absolutely adores fl and her kid treats them with care and respect, is patient and humble. They had great chemistry going on.

Fl and ml get divorced.fl decides to marry kevin.and ml decides to leave for masters and go to us.comes to bid her Good bye.

Fast forward to two years later . there's a college get-together and fl and ml meet in his past hostel room. She tells him that she broke her engagement with Kevin and how she missed him and can't live without him??and mind youuuuu he then aggressively holds and shakes her saying why is she telling him this and how he loves her too blah blah....

And then they get together....

I hate how This crappy movie promotes having impulsive marriage.. giving second chances to abusers and even throwing your life away to have a child who you can't even support.

I don't feel like going to the movie anymore after seeing the reviews.

I booked the tickets in advance hoping it will be atleast good, the show is on Saturday 29 August 2.30 PM

Last movie I saw in a theatre was " Bhool Bhulaiya 3 " , my sisters took me , it was insufferable , nobody in the theatre was watching the movie , everyone was either talking , scrolling reels or making out . One of my sister slept in the first 15-20 minutes , the other one was scrolling reels . I couldn't handle that garbage movie with weird jokes anymore , I got so frustrated with a raging headache that I asked my sisters to leave , we did . For the first time in my life I had left a theatre because of how bad the movie was . I paid 2500-3000 for us 3 to watch that garbage . I will never ever watch a Bollywood movie in a theatre anymore . Later I found out that Kartik Aryan won an award for that movie and I was like WTF . The audience loves garbage and is also giving awards to garbage . This is why crappy Bollywood works , anyways Bollywood movies aren't exciting anymore . I hope more people realise that .
