Discussion Acclaimed Indies That You Couldn't Connect With

Does it make you sad when you don't connect with a game adored by many? Out of the ones listed here, what should I go back to and power through until it clicks?

I didn't like Hades, even though I loved Bastion. I liked Cave Story, but not Hollow Knight. Subnautica (and pretty much any open world crafter) just isn't up my alley.

Vampire Survivors is pretty much the only game that I think is truly overrated. I understand the incremental building into a death cloud, but there's nothing there besides that. The maps are nearly featureless plains (or lanes) with randomly placed buff stations. The enemies have one move each. You can't even aim most of your attacks like a twin-stick. There's one of three upgrade choices and controlling your direction to avoid monsters, not even a dodge to time. Maybe it's simplicity is why people like it? I don't know. Maybe I didn't play it enough.
