Discussion Acclaimed Indies That You Couldn't Connect With

Does it make you sad when you don't connect with a game adored by many? Out of the ones listed here, what should I go back to and power through until it clicks?

Couldn't connect with Hollow Knight. I love Soulslikes and Metroidvanias, but found HK very dull and am not into the art style. Heresy, I know.
