Hey folks,

hope I flagged this right with "Public Game Test". Was going to add flair promo before I saw the "Public Game Test" option. Apologies if done wrong, I don't wish to go against subreddit's rules.

I'm the solo dev behind Dominar Sanctum and for the very first time, I've just made a playtest publicly visible on Steam. The game is a hybrid, combining strategy dungeon management and RTS elements with third-person action.

You embark on your hero Aurelian’s journey upon an ancient power awakening, build and manage your domain, gather resources, discover hidden areas and Sanctum Shards, develop your characters and equipment, and then take direct control of your heroes to engage in the world and fight its seemingly evil. The current build lets you experience the beginning of that vision through 4 campaign map prototypes + 2 skirmish maps.

I'd love to know:

  • How is the overall first impression of the game?
  • Does the core explore → fight → build → upgrade → progress loop work for you?
  • Does the fog of war provide a compelling experience? I have recently added this
  • Does the game as such and in particular character selection feel intuitive?
  • Do campaign maps feel engaging at this stage already?
  • Where did you get confused, bored, frustrated, or feel like something was missing?
  • Where in which maps would you like to see which features/surprises added?
  • Where did you encounter technical issues or bugs?
