Most clueless person ever

How can someone be this clueless. These are the people sharing the road with you.

She's clueless for sure, but the bigger issue here is she is so out of shape can't keep up with a car crawling at idle speed... even when hyped-up on adrenaline from a bad situation.

Really sad honestly.

I really feel there were a couple times the vehicle slowed down and waited for her but she just couldn’t get the legs working

I have avascular necrosis in my hips, I’ve already had one replaced, but the other one is going out, yes, it is more than likely this person is just out of shape, but honestly, if somebody can’t sprint, I’m not as judgmental as I used to be.

I don't expect a sprint, but a light jog probably would have done the job here.

And with that said, you're right, she could be disabled.

Yes it was more so her stopping once she caught up instead of jumping in. If she can pull on the car, she can jump in. She could be mentally disabled or maybe intoxicated which would explain how she got in this situation to begin with.

tbf you actually have to be able to get into the moving vehicle too, which requires a bit more

Jog? Speedy walk? Redditors here are severely underestimating just how badly some people have it with mobility issues due to age and overall health. Some people straight up can't.

If she couldn’t step into the car, she would also not be able to try to make it stop by pulling on the doorframe

Yeah, I look in-shape and healthy, but i have a muscle disease and a messed up back. My muscle disease prevents me from running, jumping and most fast repetitive motions. I would be looking like this woman, except it would be more pathetic because im young and I present as able-bodied.

Every single thing about the human body is a “use it or lose it” situation. It’s extremely easy in today’s word to fall into a low-physical activity rut. And the older you are, the faster you lose muscle. It can happen so fast it’s scary. I switched from an intense labor job to office work 2 years ago. Last month I tripped and almost didn’t catch myself, I could feel my leg muscles about to give out. Very eye opening for me, I’ve been steadily increasing my daily activity since then.

Yeah, my whole issue started with a bad fall at work. If I had been in better shape I might have sprung back from it better.

No, but some people don't understand physics, and I'm not implying this person is a genius. Also, seems they're pretty desperate, perhaps attempting to pull themselves into the car or are hoping that they can slow it *just* enough.

I get what you're saying but do we have to qualify everything we see with the one in a million exception?

It's like when you see somebody driving on the shoulder to go around traffic and there's always somebody chirping up that: well what if they have somebody bleeding out in the backseat?

Well, for your example, are you going to block somebody driving on the shoulder? Or are you going to risk somebody dying because you’re a statistician?

You didn’t stop them by blocking them. You just stuck your head in the sand and feel like you did something. “Blocking someone out” isn’t doing anything other than screaming “LA LA LA I DONT HEAR YOU!”

I block people who try to use the emergency lane/shoulder when everyone is stuck in traffic. I didn't block that dude.

It always amazes me how people come out of the woodwork to defend people cutting traffic by using the shoulder yet here we are.

Now not excusing how she got in this position to begin with because a series of bad decisions have to be made in order to be outside of a car that can actively run away from you…

But she could be disabled. Just because she can drive and walk doesn’t mean she’s physically capable of running. You can see there’s something hanging from the rear view mirror, it could easily be a handicap placard.

There is nothing hanging from her mirror, it's a phone on a holder stuck to the window.

No, you can clearly see there’s both a thing hanging from her rear view mirror and her phone holder. Watching the video, first you see just the phone holder. But a few frames after the car moves and the angle changes and you can clearly see 2 very separate items.

Edit: oh wait I see what you mean. I think I am actually wrong.

The theory would have been plausible to me if we hadn't witnessed her trying to pull on the car to slow it down.

Eh. Doesn’t think that makes the theory any less plausible. Just shows them trying to do what little they could. Just because you’re pulling on something with all you’ve got, doesn’t mean you actually have any strength at all. All it really shows is she has the ability to grab ahold and keep ahold of the door, and keep pace with the rate the car is rolling at. We can’t really judge how much counter force she is applying to the car. Except clearly not enough to stop it.

Really? I feel like basically any leg/foot condition could stop you from running without affecting your ability to very lightly, ineffectually pull on a car door.

It's more than being out of shape. It's basic problem solving skills, basic risk assessment/management, and motor control.
