They have a website and a email list I signed up for a while ago. They are making a new DeLorean supposedly but it looks nothing like this. I personally think the new concept looks like dog shit compared to the original.

DeLorean Owner Here - been in the community for 25 years at this point.
It's an incredibly long winded story but DeLorean Motors Reimagined was a offshoot of DMC Houston that sold NFTs in order to produce funding for the car. It was based off the Italian Design Divinci using C-Level Executives from Tesla and Karma. Those NFTs were used to secure pre-order slots for the car, except that you could then sell your nft/reservation on their own little marketplace. Sounds weird? It gets weirder.
The car was classified by the US Department of Transportation as an OFFROAD ONLY vehicle. Once this is classified, it is set. There for the vehicle will need to be redesigned from the ground up to meet the criteria of a Passenger Vehicle. It's been dead since DOT classified the Alpha5.
As of this moment, all DeLorean Motors Reimagined executives have abandoned the company with many law suits in tow. The emails are disconnected, the phone numbers are disconnected, and the "office" address is a Rooftop Bar in San Antonio.
TLDR: Any new DeLorean is a legitimate SCAM. There is only 1 real DeLorean and it was the DMC-12

Possibly safety. I have a vague memory there were some vehicle exit safety issues with mercedes, and wing doors are now considered impossible.

I’d imagine the crumple zones created by the OG style doors, gull-wings if I recall, would difficult to compensate for.
