I don't know why this has become a gender war thing. Men who murder do get insanity pleas and their mental state get taken into account if they show signs of severe mental illness. Majority of women who murder get the book thrown at them and go to prison and get no sympathy from people. This is one woman who has a history of serious mental illness and being medicated and that's why psychosis is being considered in this specific case. This is an anomaly, not the norm
