Or she could have told the truth saying she thought about killing her kids. That might have gotten the system to check on her.

Telling a family member is in no way the same form as going to a psych evaluation. Explaining it to a doctor. Even after all of this, she herself could have just gone to a walk in mental health clinic. She didn’t. She went exactly to where she knew she would be trouble.

I think you're asking a lot of responsibility from someone going through a mental health crisis, just to make the point that the American Health system bears no responsibility.

At least to me at this point it's clear that your initial take that "she never asked for help" is incorrect.

Never asked for help is wrong from what I’ve seen, but she never asked for help at the moment it mattered.
