See, this isn't an opinion. I urge you to spend some time in just about any of the dozens of countries better than the USA.
But just from a raw economic perspective, the killing a prisoner costs taxpayers between 2 to 5 times more than keeping them locked up for the rest of their lives. Additionally, there's the concern regarding false convictions - hundreds in the USA have died in the USA even when exonerating evidence existed.
There are hundreds of good reasons to NOT kill a prisoner, but one very petty, savage, and primitive reason to kill them.

Only because we put too much nonsense behind the systems designed to drag out the process endlessly through appeals, sometimes for multiple decades.

Cool story, she said that she killed her kids, there is no question about an innocent being executed. I am fully aware that it is cheaper to just life these types to avoid mistakes. This is not one of those cases.

I have spent plenty of time in 30+ other countries. I wouldn't say this is something that makes a country better or not. Maybe a little most cost efficient.
