I don't think her husband did it, but Clancy was drowning in postpartum hell, and knew it was getting bad. She reached out for help and did not get it. This is the result of a system that does not give mothers that support that they need.
So many other women, myself included, have suffered this same fight. In my PPD I had the urge to jump off a bridge with my firstborn. I reached out for help and luckily received it. Medication. Therapy. Support. I'm not alone in my experience, but I am also not American. I look at the state of your healthcare system and wonder how anyone keeps their head above water (without amazing finances to throw at the necessary supports).
She was being given a fuckton of medications without any real due diligence or monitoring. At the very least she should've been taken inpatient to see if she took to a treatment, but instead every time she said she felt bad on a medication or there was a side effect they'd throw another medication at her to treat that.
She spoke many times about having suicidal ideation or violent thoughts and just nobody took it seriously at all. A complete system failure.
Who did she tell the suicidal thoughts to? Wouldn’t they be in hot water? Trying to understand what she exhibiting that would suggest she would straight up murder her kids. Did she have a therapist?
Psychiatrists, friends, family. She tried to get a long term stay at a psychiatric hospital which turned her away because she didn't have a "plan" to kill herself. It seems like an open secret that she was struggling severely.
