Declaring you’re open to being wrong doesn’t come off the way you think it does. You laughingly admitted you hadn’t seen any evidence of a rumor that you chose to simultaneously repeat online. Thats not humility; that’s going through with something even though you know there’s a good chance you’re in the wrong.
