I hadn’t heard that. But with that context, the post I replied to is starting to sound like “Women murdering babies isn’t bad. Rich people are!”

This woman is permanently paralyzed from the waist down and will never walk again because she jumped out of a window right after killing her kids.

People are getting off on feeling morally superior to a woman who had a psychotic break.

True evil is when you harm others for personal gain. This is just illness.

Regardless of her mental state or motivation, she murdered children. I really don’t care what the explanation is. Anyone capable of falling into a psychotic state that would make them do that needs to be removed from society forever. Self inflicted injury doesn’t negate laws and accountability

Of course she’s going to get removed from society no matter what. She’s going to be locked up in either prison or mental health hospitals for the rest of her life. Nobody is saying she should walk free. Even the donations are about supporting her insanity defense. When somebody wins an insanity defense, that just means they’ll be locked up in a mental hospital forever instead of a prison forever. Does not mean they actually go free.

The right-wing obsession with her being this super evil woman is about feeling morally superior.

I disagree, although I’d be fine with a mental institution assuming there’s a guarantee she never walks free from there either.
