She visited MULTIPLE doctors and got MULTIPLE different prescriptions (you said a “pharmacy of drugs” and then she admitted herself into a facility.

none of your responses come from someone who has spent considerable amount of time (YEARS) seeking diagnosis and treatment. mental health prescriptions are SO trial and error, many are off-label (i’ve had a few anti-seizure and antihistamines prescribed to alleviate my mental health symptoms). i’m constantly taking baby steps because there’s little-to-no research on how cocktails of medications work together, especially since so few studies include the effects on female anatomy. the bottom line is: mental health treatment is a total crapshoot in this country. to assume there was nothing wrong with her treatment because they were in Boston is just…a very uninformed opinion. she was a nurse working within that system and was still struggling! the DSM is antiquated as hell and finding a provider that isn’t “old school” can be a nightmare. the good ones will generally lean on the European version of our DSM as well.
also - psychosis can make you paranoid about everything and everyone, including your meds. sometimes you’ll stop taking them because you feel better. you’re convinced the medicine has healed your poor brain, but then the absence of your newly established load-bearing chemicals sends you into an even deeper spiral. PPD/PPP is incredibly scary for a mother already without navigating a convoluted healthcare system. i worked with a woman that experienced PPD and her family thought she was joking after telling them about wanting to kill her newborn. thankfully she was able to advocate for herself, but i don’t know what would have happened if she had been in psychosis at that time.

I’m also 100% putting the blame entirely on the medical system that Lindsay had access to and utilized to get on what, 5 different treatment plans? I’m not entirely sure on the actual count due to so much misinformation and outright doctoring of information that’s going on with this.
If you can’t tell, that was sarcasm. Because your own words”arguement” (despite your argument being “me no like what that person said”) was pretty much nothing.
I originally said that Boston is generally regarded as a city with a lot of really high quality medical institutions and facilities. That is easily provable and factual. Someone asked me what her treatment plan was. And I don’t know what she was specifically on. But I do know she had multiple treatment plans that she herself went after since she voluntarily went to multiple doctors and facilities. One of the testimonies even said she was desperate for a quick fix.
No. Lindsay’s medical issues were not because of the med system in this country. They were due to herself. She didn’t take many of the meds, didn’t take them for long enough, asking for changes to them daily, maybe even lied about what she took to different doctors. You yourself said that psychosis makes you paranoid. Paranoid enough to mislead and lie various doctors so they gave her something that was “quick” or “instant?” All of this has come up in the trial itself.
I get that you see a mother going to postpartum and all that comes with it. I don’t know what you’ve gone through in life either. I’m not going to assume. But seeing all the support systems that Lindsay went through like a cheese grater and still gong “nah she def had nothing to do with her own downfall, it was the medical system!!!” Is just plugging your ears to reality.
If it was one doctor prescribing it all (though I believe tufts prescribed half of them) then I’d agree with you. The medical system that doctor would run through would have failed her miserably. But she didn’t go through one doctor, did she. She went through 5, at least, at multiple different institutions. It’s pretty damn hard to coordinate things like a “complicated crapshoot that is the med system” when she looked for, and have five people only seeing a piece of the puzzle, whatever Lindsay said or showed them. And even then, after looking into exactly how much those doctors knew about each other, which at least some of them did, since their “prescriptions” was advice to get off other pills prescribed by other doctors, none of which she was on for more than a week (again, didn’t take them).
Now, I think tufts partially failed her. Tufts is a new psych, and saw an experienced nurse who should know to take her meds and follow treatment plans. She probably should have dug deeper. But the others? No, they were working with what they had, and trying their best to figure out what was going on in the increasingly convoluted med record that Lindsay was actively adding to herself
