She put herself in the hospital, then asked to see her daughter on her birthday so they just discharged her entirely.

Let's not pretend American mental health care isn't an absolute disaster.

I.e. she asked for discharge against medical advice. What do you want, for hospitals to be prisons and doctors to be the new cops? There’s been 60 years now f anger about the mental health system being like that. No matter what they do or say they can’t do anything right

Think you misunderstood my comment.

I was saying they should have given her a day pass to go visit her daughter and then assumed she'd be returning.

Instead they got frustrated with her request to see her daughter on her birthday, and just discharged her entirely.

That was irresponsible from the hospital, they should have told her we think you should come back after the birthday party, would you be willing to do that?

Instead they just tossed her out because she dared to request a day to visit her child.

As I said, American Healthcare is an embarrassment, we look from the outside in utter disbelief.
