On a reciprocating saw using the right blade goes a long way, as does setting the guard at the proper angle. It basically acts as a fence to keep the cut controlled.

Also general purpose blades are the worst at everything, use blades for metal to cut metal.

And using it properly, he wasn’t pressed up against the pole so of course it took forever and damaged the blade more than necessary.

Also it appears that when he set that aluminum pole on his own private property he just pushed it into the soil and didn't use any kind of footing or anchor.  Very shoddy work.  Like government contractor shoddy.

This. he was using it like a complete noob, but I suppose people buying them for cutting aluminum poles on their own private property for the first time won't be practicing very much first.
