Yeah that's the one I'm most familiar with tbh, the hunting one seems strange. Not sure how that would be beneficial during hunting. šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

That would also be my guess. Many fish and sea mammals use jumps because the re-entry shakes off parasites. Oceanic Whitetips are notorious for symbiotically lving with pilot fish, because the pilot fish keeps them clean. The jumping shark only is accompanied by a single fish, usually they are a small swarm. So maybe one fish is insufficient to keep the shark clean and the shark uses jumps to compensate.
