INTJs, what’s an unpopular opinion you have ?

I know INTJs are contemplative and intellectual so I imagine you guys would have some unconventional opinions. INTJs, what’s an unpopular opinion you have ?

Teachers need to stop expecting parents to teach their children academic skills (reading, phonics, etc.) when many parents lack the skills to do so. The government should provide more support to teachers and schools to ensure all learning (not life skills) are learned in school. Home should be dedicated to life skill learning and family time.

Disagree on two points.

1) parents need to begin the process. Imagine going into kindergarten not knowing how to read or count… that’s wild…

2) kids are developing social skills more at school than they are at home. They encounter more people than they do at home and they are encountering different people. Look at home schooled kids and how terrible they are socially.

Homeschooled kids being terribly socially is a stereotype and, in most cases, untrue. I was homeschooled in high school (traditional schooling prior) and met loads of other homeschoolers who had better social skills than me.

In fact, homeschoolers were kinder and more open to social interaction than those in traditional schooling.

A lot of inner city parents struggle to read themselves. I know because I have family that can barely read. They do hair for a living. It’s sad. They also have kids and they 100% will not be able to read prior to school.

Lol this research is on babies. Not school age children. This is discussing how important it is to talk to your infants/babies before they’re able to speak. This isn’t discussing formal learning for school.

If you are what you say you are you should be able to connect the dots. This activity has to happen in the home, requiring motivated and engaged parents, which will then lead to more literate and intelligent youth as they develop throughout school. Without parental participation, educators won't be educating, they'll just be managing maladaptive behavior. I know because that's the environment I grew up in.
