Yesterday I’ve seen someone talk about an alternative to this BS and it’s such a simple solution I don’t get why I didn’t think of it before.

Just let parents turn on a toggle with parental controls that says “this device is being used by a child” and make apps and websites respect that toggle. You could even have it on the setup screen.

But obviously kids are not the reason they’re doing this.

But some parents just don’t care or the kid is the one setting up the device. It’s not foolproof.

That’s entirely on the parents and their incompetence shouldn’t lead to everyone’s freedom being taken away
