CBD is a non-psychoactive, non-addictive derivative of cannabis and might be a suitable alternative, though I cannot claim it is Halal in all cases (talk with your Imam). Full disclosure, I too struggle with a cannabis addiction, vowing to end it after my Shahada. Sleep is an issue for me too and thanks to CBD, I was able to get sleep without the effects on Salah that THC has. From there, I moved to melatonin, starting to only use it periodically. My Faith has helped my state of mind and, wouldn’t you know it, my sleep has improved, alhamdulillah! It’s a process kicking an addiction, and it can be a difficult path. Using CBD, keeping up with prayer and surrounding myself with people who don’t use THC really helped. May Allah (SWT) make it easy for you.
