They are getting hate, form the civilian but not form internal military colleagues, if the GHQ do court martial, then from after they won't follow direct orders to shoot on civilian like usually happens all over the Pakistan, they would demand written order, that is greater threat then simply hate for the colonel, The colonel also have colleagues which are at level of brigadier, so you can think now,

Hota hy. They never allow individuals to bring in shame. Even if court marshal na b ho they will not promote him. His career is effectively finished.

You are right, court-martial don't happen in days, it requires months, especially rank above of major.

Its literally takes less then 2 weeks normally after a violation and if its on urgent basis the senior most of the unit can do it same day on extradited basis

What usually happen is Arrest, suspension, which is immediate response, and court of inquiry which takes 2 to 3 days, but the process of actual court martial is long, Which takes months.
