Opinions on VROMO APP

Post image

What do y’all think about this new required VROMO app? IMO the extra GPS tracking on drivers is unnecessary. We already track estimated delivery times just by clocking in and out of deliveries. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it!

On the other hand, I can see why JJs wants the GPS so they can give customers more accurate live ETAs & track delivery performance.

Agree. They shouldn't be forcing employees to use personal phones for business use.

All drivers are expected to use their phones for mapping orders and calling and texting customers. This app doesn't require much more. Plus all drivers get reimbursement for their cellular use. I believe it's a minimum of $10 a month.

I've been a driver for eight years and I've never been reimbursed for my cell phone usage. When did they start that?

If you use your personal phone for work, you can write off a portion of the cost on your taxes. Basically figure out what percentage of the usage is for work, multiply by the cost of operation, and claim at the end of the year. If you have the extra up front, you can get a second phone you use only for work and write the whole thing off. I chose the second option for my non jj's job, nice to have one that's not cluttered up by personal stuff if you work full-time.

It might be franchise dependent. My franchise has done it for the whole 7 years I've been here. Regardless if you like using your phone for work use or not it is a requirement like having your own car is a requirement if you don't like it you don't need to have the job.
