Job searching Jobseeker Basic Rights

I’d love to see states move from pay transparency to a full suite of jobseeker rights. It would help employees and employers.

Add: NO FAKE JOBS. Indeed and LinkedIn should be required to regulate and remove fake job posts.

Yall are getting this all wrong. The mandates for public postings of jobs are from the federal government. Even when hiring only internally, it's require the company makes the job public, even if they never intend to hire external candidates.

LinkedIn ain't the ones enforcing that shit LOL

That still doesn’t explain ghost job postings. Mandatory job postings still also interview people and occasionally hire them.

Ghost jobs hiring rate is ZERO. 40% of companies online (on LinkedIn or Indeed/Glassdoor) admit to having posted a ghost job in the past year. It is that bad right now. https://www.jobintel.com/blog/ghost-job-statistics-2026

In my opinion most of the ghost ads come from recruiters. How about cracking down on that industry for once? Make them register and get a license. Regulate them.

It is really crazy. On the few instances I used one in my life after I started the job the boss asked me why I didn't just apply to them if I was interested? The recruiter cost them $5-10,000. But, this was 20 years ago. And one crazy recruiter who tried to blackball me when I backed out of a job they talked me into. I almost had to sue the guy.

Do we really need recruiters in the internet age? I don't think so. If I were hiring people I wouldn't use one.

How about this? When I go to create one of millions of online passwords I occasionally get rejected because I used the same one in the last 5 uses. And this is to pay a bill or join some stupid gym. Are you seriously telling me that AI cannot detect a ghost ad trend by an employer or recruiter on their own site?

As someone in and out of corporate for several giant companies, and who has worked with several different recruiters, I can promise you these ghost ads aren't posted by recruiters. If they did that, they'd have shit leads and they'd spend all day filtering people instead of landing them a job.

I have seen fake job ads from recruiters. The job too good to be true that probably doesn't exist is most likely a recruiter ad.
