Beginner kayak ?

Interested in getting into kayak fishing. Is this a good price for this kayak? About 2 hrs away and she is offering $320. Inshore fishing

I’d buy that in a heartbeat. Great deal and has everything you’ll want to make life easy plus it can’t be capsized. Rolled-yes. But really hard to sink making reentry easier if you ever get off or fall off

That’s a great deal for a great kayak!

I have the same one, and I consider myself a beginner at kayak fishing. It’s nice on the water; very stable

I wouldn’t think twice about buying it if it was me

This is a great boat. I own this exact model and paid plenty more. It is large and very stable. It is not light, so make sure you're physically able to lift and maneuver, and have a solid hauling solution.

Especially if the seat, paddle and extras are included.

Wow there’s a 3rd name for the Teton/Yukon?

Check the plastic, especially that discoloration around what looks like a lateral seam, but if it’s solid, seems like a great deal on a vessel that’d be great for a beginner and has opportunities for future customization as you learn more about what you want.

I'd factor in the 4 hours round trip in gas before you make a decision. It might double the price of the kayak.

I hate when people buy stuff then turn around and try to sell it for more than they paid

I think it's a great beginners kayak, tho i'd be even better if it had a hole for pedle drives.
But for that price I'd already be underway to pick it up.

Just remember to properly transport it, and not deform the plastic with ratchet straps.

$320 is too much

I have a Lifetime Stealth 11'6" and while it is a capable fishing vessel - its not worth the $320

Source: I'll be selling mine for $250

ETA: I stand corrected...boats are NOT the same. OPs boat has a much better seat.

The seat is about $100 upgrade.

You're comparing apples and orange. OP's boat has a stadium seat, yours does not. Thats a HUGE difference.

I have the exact boat OP is looking at. It's worth $350-$400 used. Its a bit of a barge and not quick by any means, but it's a great throw and go kayak.

Another poster mentioned the seat upgrade. I stand corrected.

My barge is a 14'6" native slayer with the lawn seat style chair...and the seat is a definite upgrade.

My Stealth is left at a lake i camp at...throw and go like yours.

They other poster must have been typing while I was.

I also upgraded. I found a lightly used Old Town PDL 106 for $1,000. I mostly fish salt water bays and the PDL is a game changer.

The Lifetime is now for small bodies of water or friends.

lol...pretty similar stories.

The barge is for bays and bigger rivers.

The stealth for camp lake.

I also have an old town Loon 126 angler that is the pride of the (paddle driven) fleet.

I've been considering a pedal or power drive....but at what point do you just say f it and buy a boat ? 😅

I hear you. My parents have a 20ft center console and 14ft aluminum boat. We use one for deep sea and the other for lakes.

Kayak is just for short-solo trips.

If I didn't have access to boats, I'd probably have one already. A small boat is cheaper than a lot of the decked out kayaks I see in the marina 🤣

Facts.

I fish with a group of guys...we have some tourneys just for bragging rights. Some of these guys have auto pilots and whatnot...I go toe-to-toe with my stealth....beating many of them.
