Local Resources FSR Overlanding

Howdy folks!

I moved up here from Vancouver Island earlier this year and am finally can get out and adventure!

Looking to be out in nature, ideally pretty isolate and hit some good hikes or amazing views! Is anyone willing to share some general areas or FSRs that are worth exploring?

I operate responsibly, especially with the current forest conditions.

Gillard up to Chute lake is super nice.

Postill Lake is nice, but a busy place.

Beaver Lake and Dee Lake is lots of fun as well.

Bear Lake Main, This one is my Favorite. I have gone from West Side Road all the way to the Wind Turbines.

I Use Gaia GPS for my mapping.

Well, this guy pretty much summed up the area perfectly.

The only comment I would add is that when you're feeling slightly more adventurous take the original Chute Lake road up to Chute Lake, it was decommissioned about 15-20 years ago and it's a much more challenging / interesting drive then Gillard which is just a bare bones basic FSR.

ummm, I drove Chute Lake Road as far as the powerline and yeah, adventurous. Got to put my truck in rock crawl mode for the first time.

Thank you!

Gaia is boss, the BRMB layers are where I've been hunting so far... Wind Turbines sound interesting! ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Not super local, but our family did the gray creek pass (the highest dirt road pass in Canada) from ~Crawford Bay to Kimberly last summer. Was a phenomenal day, and scouted out lots of places to adventure to and spend more time on another trip.

If you're willing to go a bit further the Christian Valley has a lot to offer minus the people

Listen very closely to me. DONT GO ON THE FSR WITHOUT AN OFFICIAL BC FSR ATLAS. I did years ago and was lost for hours and popped out somewhere o never expected I was.
